OT What made Tim Hardaway think he could say this on national television?

They were examples of good people in real life, which you claimed as Bullshit. And I'm not surprised you don't have a problem with them, because they are good people. Like I implied.

How is it fake moral outrage? Again, I don't see anyone being "outraged" here. Just that there's things that people shouldn't say. And people stating that. I'm not fake in thinking if someone is sad that they can't call someone a retard, that I think that person is a piece of shit.
I just can't imagine hanging out with friends and hearing any of them calling people retards or fags or whatever other slurs you wanna add in and either not calling them on it. It's not fake moral outrage. It's not trying to "police" someone. I just wouldn't want to associate and call a friend someone that would use something like that so casually.
If the only way you're able to not use slurs is by having the "invisible gun to your head" or running for politics, once again, that really does say a lot about that person. If in casual conversation, it comes casually, that person is insensitive at best. More "honest" seems like you have casual bigots or racists in your circle that speak freely and aren't called on it.

But...but I said that you will find good people in real life to have honest conversations with? Like...people here are invited to a members funeral, this isn't Twitter, like where the majority of these reaction seekers go to for their morality dopamine hit. I don't believe everyone here is going for that, but the dog pile on the user who said it was a part of feminist or whatever agenda looks like lightswitch brain political dog piling to me. I don't know how this lukewarm take made me the Adolf in the room.

I have a group of friends with their own flaws. I don't call them out when they say something off kilter, because real life isn't Reddit. I will not be given a gold badge. Nobody will be crying or clapping. They're mostly buddies I met doing construction work before I went to school. A strange mixture of Croatians and Newfoundlanders. You can imagine that they say some wild things and make some inappropriate comments, especially when the BTs start going around. Again, I'm not from a big city, or the upper classes, so I don't start makeshift struggle sessions when someone goes off script after 14 hours of non union drywalling.

I'm just having a gentle debate with you. There is no outrage. I'll add that this has actually been a decent back and forth without unnecessary name calling or the like. I just think, we as humans, can and should strive to be better. That is the crux of my beliefs.

I'm far from upper class, just have no place for bigots in my life. Life's too short to spend it with close minded people, for me.

Sames. I'm from a tiny depressed lumber mill town in Southern Oregon. There was no privilege or upper class to speak of.

You're telling me to eat farts or something, which is totally fine don't get me wrong lmao I don't want to be a hypocrite, but something happens in these conversations where one side starts foaming at the mouth and projecting whatever their political enemies are onto the other person, it's as if that's the only way they know how to engage with others. I'm cool with your view, I don't even really disagree with it, it's not like I'm saying Tim should be able to say it, just calling out how unnatural these reactions can sound sometimes online, again, like a corporation releasing a press statement.

I was trying to bring humor into the situation with the fart line. It wasn't very funny though. Can't win em all.

I don't think he ever had or was looking for one, this was a one off. The W's had him, Mitch and Chris behind the mike for one game celebrating their time with the franchise.

The best part was hearing Mullin in his thick Brooklyn accent reading the promotional bumps.

I don't really care, I never have. I love people who think outside the box. Will never forget the random black Israelite who stopped by my house as I was smoking a joint on the patio and asked if he could smoke there too, apparently he was attending a wedding. The conversation went from white people being created in a laboratory to casinos having no windows so you forget about time. You just don't get that level of variety with people who have post 2016 acceptable dialogue shock collars on. Keep talking to the same people for the rest of your life, I guess.

Being truly open minded (to me at least) means seeing people for their faults and engaging them on why they are that way instead of just shouting them down or shutting them out. Places like this can become an echo chamber for one way of thinking and it gets to be that anyone with a different viewpoint will get shouted down enough that they just quit saying anything.

As someone that has spent over a decade talking into a microphone as a main part of my job (and now also to students) it's not always a "think before you speak" situation, sometimes going off the cuff, especially on live tv, it's understandable why people not trained to do the job, say things that are off color. Hell, people trained to do the job sometimes say things they shouldn't because you don't have time to pour over every word and make sure it's perfect. Thankfully I've never found myself in the situation that Hardway has, and he should have been a little more careful with his words given his past transgressions, but this isn't the end of the world, though it may be the end of his broadcasting days!

If you make money by people sending you payments you should be prepared for the day they decide to stop sending it.

You can't just force someone to keep paying you once they no longer like what you stand for.

I'm not buying it. @SlyPokerDog has explicitly admitted to being an asshole many times.
