They might do what we did after our 4 game streak last season. They proved they can win with current talent and now it’s time to shut down Lauri, Conley, Olynyk, Sexton, and Clarkson so they can land a too young talent. Let Beasley be the star of the team. Should have the desired result.

Oops! I guess you can lead a horse to water...

That applies to both Balmer and myself in this situation.

They'll shut down Lauri and Sexton but I think they'll trade the other three for young talent and draft picks that won't get them too many wins this season.

Simons/Nurk for Conley/Olynyk and one of their picks anyone? Conley would be best backup PG in league and Olynyk would be an incredible get at the pivot.

Is Portland the only team not to lose 2 in a row this season?

Boston is 11-3 but has lost 2 in a row
Hawks have lost 2 in a row
Bucks currently on 2 game losing streak
Jazz Currently on a 2 game losing streak

Edit: Looks like the Nuggets haven’t lost 2 in a row either. Not sure if there is another team or just us.

If Chauncey is on board with starting Shae when that trade is able to be made (January 15th) and if Nurk and Ant are still showing what they're showing now... then I'm totally down. I don't think Olynyk is specifically better for Chauncey's defense than Nurk but he certainly stretches the floor on offense and doesn't have a mental block on dunking like our guy Nurk does. So as long as we got a first from them that we could possibly trade after the draft along with Olynyk, Conley and future picks of ours to upgrade our post positions or if we win a title leave it the same... then I'm totally down with that trade.

You think Danny would consider it?

I think Danny would be very reticent to give up the pick and Ant is just as redundant with Sexton and/or Clarkson as he is currently with Dame but Ant is a young talented player. I honestly think the Jazz would have to make more moves before this trade for it to make sense or have a good idea of moves they could make after.

Making $24m this year, he BETTER be the best backup PG in the league, wtf?

You’re giving up a home-grown talent who can get better for a guy who will likely not be on the team after this season.

In the words of Chuck the Wise, that’s just turrible.

You'd be getting Sharpe at the starting shooting guard essentially in the deal. And I SAID he'd be the best backup PG in the league so why do you say he better be? Simons needs his own team where he can be the starting shooting guard. That won't be in Portland for another 5 or 6 years. Conley would improve our team in the short run to win a title now.

I said he better be because he’s making $24m. Backup PGs shouldn’t be making that much. Just because Ant may not be in Portland for 5 or 6 years, doesn’t mean you trade him for a one year rental that’s shooting worse than he is.

“Conley would improve our team”—is that an assumption or is that a promise? Cause I would rather just start Sharpe and bring Ant off the bench before trading Ant for one year of Conley. I don’t think replacing Ant with Conley improves the team at all, especially in the one year that we would have him.

I’m not trading Ant unless a star came back like Siakam or Bam. 4 years of Ant > one year of Conley who is shooting 40%fg/37.5%3. Just my opinion though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Ainge wouldn't touch that deal with a 10ft pole. He is giving out zero picks.

What Conley offers is the maturity that comes with 15 years of NBA experience, a >5:1 A/TO ratio, and a history of solid defense at the PG position. And while he clearly won't be worth 24M going forward, we would be able to re-sign him to continue to backup Dame for a couple more years, and would benefit from that relationship.

I would love it if Ant could return a frontcourt star (or even starter), but I don't know that there will be enough demand for him to lead to that kind of return.

Seems nothing can go right for Warriors. They thought it would be fun to bring back Run TMC for a game, Warriors won by a ton, and Tim "I hate gay people" Hardaway screwed it up, when Steph Curry hit a three and Hardaway said Spurs were raped.

Losing a basketball game is not rape, but he is an asshole.

He said the Spurs defender raped Curry because of the contact during the shot, equating a foul with sexual assault. Equally egregious, but I think accuracy in reporting is important.
