Venom, could you sticky this?1st dayPlayers who impressedTye Hill / CB / Clemson Showed great coverage against Demetrius Williams, in which he got a one handed int.Travis Wilson / WR / Oklahoma Great hands and speed, the only WR's who actually caught every pass thrown his wayD'Brickshaw Ferguson / OT / Virginia Pushed around Mathias Kiwanuka, and looked good, take in consideration that there was no contact.Anthony Smith / S / Syracuse Looked good in coverage and could have layed some people out if it was livePlayers who didn't impressWill Blackmon / CB / Boston College Very rusty, hasen't played CB in a year. Got burned on short routes.Derek Hagan / WR / Arizona State Droped 2 passes, not a good start to show scoutsJay Culter / QB / Vanderbilt He looked good but then didn't, showed he was nervous and over throw a lot of WR's.I will have some more in detailed reports in the later days.

This is the meat market where hundreds of scouts, coaches and personnel men gather in a ballroom and watch as each prospect is brought on stage in his shorts to be measured and weighed. 1/24/06 - My notes. Players who looked goodDeAngelo Williams / RB / Memphis Looked good picking up the blitz against guys like DeMeco Ryans, and showed good hands and a burst of speed.Demetrius Williams / WR / Oregon Continues to look very solid and productive, shows good speed and hands. I still think he's a 3rd round WR because the fact not many teams are in seach of a WR early on.Maurice Stovall / WR / Notre Dame Wow, didn't know he had moves like that. He's been very physical and showes very good hands. Great 3rd round opition for any team.Max Jean - Gilles / OG / Georgia Pushed people like Manny Lawson around like he was a practice squad player. Big and physical, not bad.Jay Culter / QB / Vanderbilt Really, really calmed down. Showed again his strong arm hitting WR's like Jason Avant in the chest and almost knocked over Travis Wilson. I like this kid, except still shows shackiness on the run.DeMeco Ryans / LB / Alabama Pushed around the lineman in front of him and got the QB a lot in the 1 on 1 drills.Players who didn't look all that goodSklyer Green / WR / LSU Awful hands, he's droping almost everything thrown at him. His stock is falling by the hour, he's on the practice field. Fell way off the first day to me.Jason Avant / WR / Michigan Best hands in the draft but runs slow and awful routes and I'm sorry you won't make the NFL doing that.Jesse Malehona / DT / Tennessee Looks kinda lost, getting pushed around and not looking like himself, I heard he took his helmet off in anger and almost cried (according to draftstudio.com) Gabe Watson / DT / Michigan Wow is he fat or what? Well he looks it, he can't move, can't take on blocks, can't do anything.there it is..

Actually, I thought Gabe Watson looked quite impressive today by what i saw of him on ESPN. Guy was really a force to be reckoned with with his size and strength...maybe there was more of him that I didnt get to see, but he looked impressive to me.

Yeah. Well maybe I caught him on a bad series of drills. After Claude Wrotten got arrested Watson needs a good Senior Bowl week.

Yo Ven0m, I was watching it the practice on ESPN today and Cutler actually looks great. I think you'd be lucky if you can draft him.

Here is the South Notes from NFLDraftScout.com.....Quarterback: Ugh. Brodie Croyle may have felt the pressure today as hundreds of Alabama fans were in attendance. Croyle showed a decent arm, but was generally inaccurate with his passes, especially during the late scrimmage. He will need to improve as the week goes on to be drafted on the first day, as some teams had him pegged coming into this week. Georgia's DJ Shockley threw some terrific passes today, showing a strong arm and the athleticism to escape pressure. That said, he also threw some horrific passes, never showing enough consistent accuracy to make teams feel he can someday be a winning pro quarterback. The most impressive thrower on the day was Alabama-Birmingham's Darrell Hackney. While he is considerably shorter and wider than teams want at the position, Hackney has an easy throwing motion and throws a very catchable ball. His passes were generally accurate and he showed nice touch, often taking advantage of his two talented tight ends down the seams. Running Back: I generally try to scout running backs late during the practice week, or even wait until the game, itself, but the explosiveness of the this group (and the relatively disappointing showing by the quarterbacks) kept my eyes shifting. DeAngelo Williams is simply a magical runner, bursting in and out of holes and showing the agility to break the long run every time he touches the ball. As we projected, LSU's Joseph Addai enjoyed a strong start, as well. The biggest of the South backs, Addai explodes through holes with the best of them, while also having the size and physicality to run in the interior. Addai could be cementing a first round selection this week. Offensive Line: A few of the biggest names at the position line up for the South team and this was an area of focus for me today. Eric Winston isn't yet back to his former self, but has played well enough to alleviate concerns that he'll never regain his form. Winston showed good (not great) agility and uses his hands well to ward off defenders. He consistently kept his man away from the quarterback. Both Marcus McNeill and Jonathan Scott continued to be the enigmas that frustrated scouts throughout their careers. McNeill, in particular, is a monstrous man and as a talented basketball player, has the athleticism to dominate. That said, McNeill plays so high and often gets lazy, leaning into his opponent and making him vulnerable to quick spins and other counter moves. Jonathan Scott has shown tremendous physicality, at times. He, too, plays high and struggles a bit when he isn't able to knock the defender back with a strong hand punch, but has all of the tools teams are looking for.Georgia's Max Jean-Gilles is a dominating presence on the inside. He isn't without his technical flaws, as he can be beaten when his initial hand punch and footwork don't stagger his opponent immediately, but Jean-Gilles' strength and mass is simply too much for the defensive linemen here to handle. Not enough was seen of Mike Degory, Will Allen, Ryan Cook, or Albert Toeaina to accurately grade them. These players will obviously be a focus tomorrow.Defensive Line: Though I scouted the North team yesterday, scouts across the league I spoke with who viewed the South's practice were abuzz with the play of Brodrick Bunkley and to a lesser extent Mark Anderson. Some went so far as to call Bunkley the best player on the South squad. Bunkley was impressive today, showing the burst and strength we spoke of in previewing some of the nation's most underrated performers. That said, if his play today matched that of yesterday, than it wasn't his best. Bunkley too often got a great initial surge, only to lose track of the ball and run himself out of the play. Anderson played with better strength at the point of attack than many give him credit for, and is a legitimate athlete, showing speed to the flanks. He has helped himself as much as any defender here, thus far, according to league sources.NC State's Manny Lawson has spectacular speed off the edge, but lacks size and strength at the point of attack. That said, he has been terrific as a pass rusher, beating Eric Winston and Marcus McNeill repeatedly with his burst. Though he has the height to add more weight, Lawson is an extremely toned player, whose body may not be able to much "good" mass without a considerable drop in speed. Lawson's NFL position could very well prove to a 3-4 rush linebacker.Kamerion Wimbley and Parys Haralson each showed good speed off the edge, but struggled when engaged by the offensive tackle.Kyle Williams and Orien Harris made a few plays during the scrimmage, but weren't very impressive during drills. Neither shows much in terms of pass rush agility. Williams plays with solid technique to make up for his lack of athleticism. Jesse Mahelona, on the other hand, showed super burst as a pass rusher, but struggled during the scrimmage. His natural leverage helps him explode through gaps and create instant penetration, but offensive linemen quick enough to get their hands on him too easily are able to push him to the ground, eliminating him from the play. The most disappointing prospect was Louisville's Elvis Dumervil. As mentioned in previous reports, Dumervil isn't a true speed rusher, taking advantage more of determined play and natural leverage on his way towards leading the nation in sacks. That said, the offensive tackles here have toyed with him, leaving him sinking fast down draft boards.Linebacker: DeMeco Ryans and Thomas Howard each showcased the pure speed NFL teams are looking for in today's outside linebackers. A rarity, each looked better in coverage than in coming up to support the run. Ryans engaged blockers, but struggled to fight through them. He was adept at creating piles for other defenders to make the play, but didn't make enough on his own and simply wasn't as impressive as expected. Howard's great speed in coverage is almost a negative against the run as he too often tries to run around blocks and ends up taking himself out of the plays as often as he makes the tackle.UCLA's Spencer Havner showed the instincts and physicality that made him a standout in the Pac 10 throughout his career. While he lacks the speed of the other linebackers mentioned, Havner is seemingly always in the right place at the right time.Freddie Roach wasn't quite as instinctive as Havner, but showed similar physicality at the point of attack. Like Havner, Roach is probably a two down performer at the next level, consistently struggling to keep up with the faster backs and tight ends while in coverage.Gerris Wilkinson and Travis Williams generally struggled throughout the practice. Wilkinson went down late with an apparent leg injury, though it did not appear to be of a serious nature.

What? There are 1,000 's of WR's in this draft, every WR in the country who's a Senior is. I think you meant not many good WR's. Then in that case, your right.
