<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ZEELAND, Mich. (AP) -- Former Bills tight end Jay Riemersma, who hasn't played since tearing his right Achilles' tendon in a game more than a year ago, is retiring, his agent said Tuesday.Given the nature and severity of the injury, it would be too difficult for Riemersma to play again, said Jack Wirth, his Chicago-based agent.Riemersma, 32, went undrafted in 1996 after a college career at Michigan but signed with the Buffalo Bills, where he played until 2002. He joined the Steelers before the 2003 season and tore the tendon in December 2004. Pittsburgh released him Feb. 25.In 112 career games, he caught 221 passes for 2,524 yards, an average of 11.4 yards per catch, and scored 23 touchdowns.http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-r...ov=ap&type=lgns</div>Wow. He is only 32 years old and he is done. He was pretty cool when he played for us. Well thats too bad. Hope he have a good life. Never had anything against him.

He's a decent player, but unfortunately for him the NFL is making the shift towards the more offensive minded Tight Ends. Happy Retirement though Jay!

I think an Achilles tendon tear really takes a hit on athletes, my dad used to jog frequenty but since he tore his he hasn't really ever been the same.Good luck Jay.
