I'm surprised we haven't heard the right screaming about a drag queen being in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade or famous singers singing adult themed songs in front of the children on floats.

Russia is working to extend their Don't Say Gay law. It is currently a crime, punishable by imprisonment, to share with minors any book, film, video, television program, etc. that either depicts LGBTQ people in a positive manner or discusses sexual variants factually. The new law would extend the ban to everyone, including adults.

How long before Florida and Texas follow suit?

Was said drag queen exhibiting lewd behavior? I highly doubt it.

But, I thought it didn't matter. Children shouldn't see drag queens at all right?

Look, the incidences I had alluded to, no kids need to be around. I think you know the difference.

The "drag queen" part was a performance from the musical Some Like It Hot.

So the performance had nothing to do with drag queens or good drag queens vs bad drag queens or whatever.

There it is. I knew that was coming as soon as I saw a drag queen in the parade. The right were going to go off on it.

Is Tom Hanks one of them good drag queens or a bad drag queen?

Yes, it’s true that in Shakespeare’s company, and elsewhere on the commercial stage in Early Modern London, boys played all the female roles. But that doesn’t mean that Elizabethan and Jacobean audiences wouldn’t have seen women performing, maybe even at the Globe theater. The Globe may have been the first theater that allowed women to play female roles....and yes...children were allowed to watch them perform

I love how the right thinks kids are incredibly stupid. Lord knows everytime I saw something completely different from what I believed I totally went out and tried it.

When as a kid I saw someone firing a gun (almost every show on TV) I totally went out and shot one. Saw someone drinking or getting drunk on TV (cheers), totally got shit faced at lunch in the 3rd grade. When I watched Bosom buddies I totally thought I was a girl and started demanding people refer to me as one. And when I saw Jim J Bullock on my tv, I totally thought I was gay. When I watched 2 dads raise 1 girl (my 2 dads) I totally thought the female star was cute...er, I mean I thought "eww...two dads!" When I watched Small Wonder, I thought all adopted sisters were robots.

(btw, I never knew that Bosom Buddies was spelled "Bosom"...to me that looks wrong...like a total Mandela effect sorta way too).

You see, when a straight cis man dresses in women's clothing for laughs it's OK. When a drag queen performs in women's clothing it's not.
It's not the dress, it's who wears it.

Thomas James, Navy sailor credited as hero in Club Q shooting, speaks out for first time from hospital bed: 'when you come out of the closet, come out swinging'

Among the heroes identified by witnesses and officials in the Club Q shooting was U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas James, who reportedly charged the suspected shooter with Richard Fierro and possibly others at the bar.

James, through a Centura Heath spokesman, issued a statement Sunday for the first time since the shooting at the Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub.

"I simply wanted to save the family I found," James said. "If I had my way, I would shield everyone I could from the nonsensical acts of hate in the world, but I am only one person."

"Thankfully, we are family, and family looks after one another," James continued. "We came a long way from Stonewall. Bullies aren't invincible. I want to support everyone who has known the pain and loss that have been all too common these past few years. My thoughts are with those we lost on Nov. 19, and those who are still recovering from their injuries. To the youth, I say be brave. Your family is out there. You are loved and valued. So when you come out of the closet, come out swinging."

James is recovering from unspecified injuries at Centura Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, where a number of victims were sent after the shooting. A hospital spokesman said James is now in stable condition.

The U.S. Navy confirmed that James was one of the victims after a news conference last week where Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers identified James as a hero that charged and helped subdue the shooter. Details as to each person's role in subduing the shooter are still under investigation.

"Thomas James was among those injured in the Colorado nightclub shooting on Nov. 19. James is currently in stable condition and we remain hopeful he will make a full recovery," the Navy said in a statement on Tuesday. "We ask that all respect his privacy as he continues his recovery."

Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez said that James was one of two people who helped to stop the suspected shooter who walked into Club Q late on Nov. 19 with multiple firearms and is accused of killing five people. At least 17 others were injured.

James reportedly pushed a rifle out of the suspect's reach while Fierro repeatedly struck the shooter with a handgun they brought into the bar, officials have said.

Right wing media claiming gays have become the oppressor of straights. Because we want to get married. Just how our marriages oppress straight people is not defined.
