<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Goaltender Martin Brodeur has agreed to a six-year contract extension with the New Jersey Devils, an unnamed source told TSN.The deal is worth $31.2 million, with Brodeur set to earn $5.2 million per season starting in 2006-07, TSN reported.Brodeur, 33, recently was named to Canada's Olympic team after leading the country to a gold medal at the 2002 Salt Lake Games. Brodeur has won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goalie the last two seasons and has played in eight all-star games. He has been in net for three Stanley Cup-winning Devils squads. After struggling early in the season, Brodeur has recorded four shutouts in January. He narrowly missed a fifth on Thursday, with the Devils falling 1-0 in overtime to Tampa Bay. Brodeur last Monday was named the NHL's defensive player of the week.Brodeur is 24-15 with a 2.55 goals-against average and .909 save percentage this season. His highest season average was 2.44 in 1994-95, his second season in the league. For his career, the Montreal native has recorded 79 shutouts, seventh on the all-time list. He has a 427-232-109 record and a 2.19 career average. Brodeur was named to an NHL competition committee in November, consisting of up to 10 voting members for the purpose of evaluating and making recommendations on matters relating to the game -- and the way it is played -- to the NHL board of governors.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2308828

Damn he is 33 years old right now? Wow... I was a big-time hockey fan and I can remember watching him when the Penguins would play the Devils. Didn't know he was really that old.
