For the record, I'm actually quite serious. I felt it was thoughtful and reminded us these men are humans and have families and relationships. Remember Curry's complete off the rails after that Instagram or whatever model side-piece sitting near the front row was all over the media and he like completely sucked after being white-hot? Pepperidge farms remembers. Just one iconic (to me) example which is contentious to some who refuse to put 2 and 2 together.
The problem with the "average" fan compared to the people on this board is that the "average" fan is just as confident about their lazy and uninformed opinions about the team as the people on here. Average fan: CJ McCollum is good! (looking only at ppg and citing a game where CJ went off) RC2 fan: MeJ is mediocre! (looking at advanced shooting stats, contract, defense, age, etc.) It's totally fine if people want to follow the team casually. People don't need to know about basketball-reference or advanced stats to be a fan of the team. But it's hard to take them seriously when they want to make an argument and they refuse to accept actual data or insult fans who utilize advanced statistics because they're "nerds."
I don’t know about that. People are touting Anthony Edwards to make the game. CJ’s general stats are better across the board and the Pelicans are leading the West.
Man... if he makes it with 17 ppg, 6 assists, 5 boards, 1 steal shooting 40% from the field and 32% from three...... with so many good guards in the west? That would be stupid. 13.6 PER (lowest since his second season in the league) 48.2 TS% (career low) 46.2 eFG% (career low) He's playing like ass.
Never mind. I think the link I hit was old. Yeah, he won’t be going to the All Star Game unless it’s to carry Zion’s bags.
It's pretty ridiculous. Statistically he can stack up with a lot of the top 20 guys (especially when he's the #1 option)
Before this came out, I was on record that Ant being ranked around 50 seemed reasonable, so I don't find the ranking to be ridiculous. I would put Ant ahead of some of the players on this list though. To rank him inside the top 30 I'd have to put some red/black glasses on.
seems about right. he'll climb once we win more and/or he does things outside of scoring. my point of his contract not being an overpay (as multiple people were griping about in the summer) remains.
