I wouldn't be surprised if he made his debut against the Warriors. I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't.
I wondered about that. The flip side is he might not want to get embarrassed in front of the GS crowd since it would be his first game back....and more than likely a little rusty.
I wish everyone would chill out on this. The team and GP2 himself have said that he's making sure that he's 100% when he starts playing in games again. That's why they haven't listed him as injured but instead have been listing him as being out for conditioning. I don't think this is some conspiracy (however much people love those these days) and I think it's pretty simple. GP2 and the team have made the decision that they want him to start playing in games when he can make the team better, not play into making the team better.
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure somebody posted something a couple weeks ago from the Athletic where Billups talks about needing to recover mentally even after one is all healed up physically.
I don't think anyone really thinks it's any kind of conspiracy. Speaking for myself, I'm simply frustrated with the fact that we're now over 2 months into the season, 2 months into hearing that he'll be healthy and available to play any time now, and am simply unwilling to believe that he will actually play a minute for this team until he actually does. I often say that expectations are a down payment on disappointment. When I expected him to play in October, I was disappointed. When I expected him to play in November, I was disappointed. If I had expected him to play before Christmas, I would have been disappointed again. Now I simply expect nothing from him.
Personally I think they know he’s healthy and did all they could. Word is it’s him whose mentally not ready
this is exactly it. we could really use his defense right now, and losing a guy we hard capped ourselves for for half a season unexpectedly is just disappointing.
