I would trade Simons for OG. Is that deal doable? Dame/Hart/OG/Grant/Nurk is the team we’ve been waiting for. GP2/Keon/Sharpe/Winslow/Eubanks bench
You know the interesting thing is, I’m thinking you don’t watch any other teams broadcasts, EVER. Because I’ve thought of this complaint in the past year…..EVERY fucking NBA director cuts to handhelds or Robocams above the rim 10 times a game at least on a fast break. On our broadcasts in Tokyo for 3 weeks, almost every fast break was cut that way as well. Not sure why that bugs guys here. It is funny to me that you think this is a Blazers thing though. TNT directors LOVE doing that.
Just so you know, it ain’t going anywhere anytime soon either. I was in on the NBA call last week and the league is REALLY pushing for directors to start taking random “GAME CAM ANGLES” Get used to this boys and girl.
I would love it which probably means it's not quite enough value for OG... not to mention that the Raptors would need to include a min level contract to make the money work. That's the starting lineup we've been waiting for but having Justise as our second biggest guy off of the bench and Drewbanks as the biggest is way way too small.
It needs size. And I got laughed out of the room for saying the off-season was a complete failure because we didn’t address the size / length issue, but who is laughing now? And relying on Nas, who is never healthy, to stay healthy. Still hilarious hard-capping ourselves for GPII, who still hasn’t sniffed the court. Great times! Trade Ant + picks (really anything other than Grant, Sharpe, Dame, Hart, Nurk) for a legit SF. Doesn’t need to be an all nba player or anything.
My attempt to troll you succeeded better than I had expected! You’re right, I don’t watch other team’s broadcasts EVER. For one, I only watch through Fubo TV because it’s what’s available to me and I don’t want NBA League Pass because I’ve noticed that I’m largely a Blazer fan more so than an NBA fan at this point in my life. I check the stats and follow how rookies do, but I will rarely sit through a non Blazer game. Growing up and having a family have changed my priorities over time. That being said, I personally don’t like the camera changes because it takes away from seeing how the play develops and getting clear views of where players take off from on fast breaks. It’s my own personal preference and if I had it my way, I wouldn’t do it. You obviously know more about the business and what the trends are. If that’s what people generally like and the producers are more in tuned with the general population, then have at it. I don’t always need to get what I want and I’m okay with it. I enjoy the broadcast of the games and what you do. But if I HAD to nitpick…
I see a need to trade Nurkic for a more athletic center. Why trade Ant? I would like to see a bigger PF and move Grant to SF as well
Orlando's top 6 in terms of cumulative advanced stats (PER, WS, VORP) are all 6'9" or bigger (as well as all 25 or younger). Seems there's no way for them all to get consistent minutes without playing them out of position (looks like Franz was playing SG last night?), especially if Isaac is expecting to return at some point in the next couple months as well. No idea which of their bigs they consider most dispensible (Carter and Bamba are currently coming off the bench), but I'd say they should get out first attention. The fact that Ant is from Orlando and named after Penny Hardaway is completely unrelated...
Ant alone should return a complete stud of a SF. I'd be pissed if was for someone of OG's caliber... I'd want Raptors picks included. Simons is a 23 year old budding All Star level talent at a premium position. STOMP
I mean, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with that, but that seems like an absolute fleecing. IMO, Bol alone is arguably better and more impactful than Ant.
possibly though if both have rlatively healthy careers I'd guess Ant proves better on both fronts. I do think Bol is a much higher bust possibility then Ant. He's so oddly built I don't have the conficence that I have in Ant that his body will hold up over time. Isaac is being included as contract filler. It would be great if his knee somehow regenerated, but with all the time missed that seems an extreme longshot STOMP
True enough--especially if Bol became a Blazer, you'd have to assume that a catastrophic lower leg injury would be only a matter of time. Yeah, I get that Isaac doesn't have much value; actually it's the 23 FRP inclusion that made me say it would be too favorable for us. And really, I like the idea of gambling on a guy like Isaac (even if he wouldn't be well-received in Portland). IMO, he's the kind of longshot we'd have to have pan out in order to reach contender status. But hey, if Cronin could pull off the deal you suggested, I'm fully on board.
