shaedon earned more run than he got tonight. was really solid defensively in the 2nd half. woulda played him 4-5 more minutes.

    so did jabari.

think we woulda won with him in drew's place in the fourth

I guess it's just the fate of a Blazer fan that we will see reruns of reruns of reruns.

Thank god it's only December. No reason to be mad at this game.

Who actually had this game as a win tonight?
They played hard and learned some things. We watched Walker put in some really good minutes.

They will learn what they can and move on. This loss means nothing more than any other loss.

Chauncey is essentially a first year coach. He’s learning also. Season isn’t over. 2-3 wins and they are just fine.

If you didn’t have beating the Warriors without Steph and Wiggins as a winnable game, you’ve already given up on the season.

Yes, we can wait to be mad when we see it again if we make the playoffs.

I don't know that this team can get 2-3 wins.

The problem is, they are piling up.
No reason to be mad at blowing a 20 point game to the Kawhi/PG13-less Clippers.
No reason to be mad at letting a game slip away at home to the Nuggets.
No reason to be mad at letting the OKC Tankers get back-to-back wins against us.

At some point, enough is enough.

With Steph and Wiggins out, I expected a win. Yes, we were missing Nurk, but they go so small, Nurk often doesn't play much unless he is in rare beast mode. We had our 3 best players, they were without their 2 best players.
    ......it should be a win.

Also, as an aside, Danny Marang is a tool. God this whole season sucks.

So the thinking is that Portland will turn this around and win 80% of their last 30 games and secure a good playoff spot? Why would anyone believe that that? I go by the data and the data says this team will likely finish at ~500.
How are they going to get to 700? 600?? They will just change? What will change?

Chauncey just blamed the loss on the starter’s being tired. What was it in the first quarter? Also did he forget he had Walker and Sharp available on the bench?
These are rookie Coach mistakes. He’ll get it together. Just had a bad night.

    Wait?
Beating the Warriors without Steph and Wiggins but playing without Nurk and Winslow and Keon and Payton and with Ant going through concussion protocol?
Maybe not as bad a loss as you seem to make it?

Exactly! They had their doors blown off in the 1st quarter after how many days off? Did they use up a lot of energy getting back in the game? Sure. But don't let that happen in the first place. It was 9-0 before we sniffed a basket. That 'tired' thing is a poor excuse. Sharp and Walker played well and could have played more later in the game if it was an issue then. But the game was dictated from the opening tip.

I don't know but if I'm coaching this game, the guy who dribbled his skull off the hardwood and might not come back for concussion concerns might not have been my go to closer. Using up all 3 timeouts prematurely was not clever either...it cost a 5 second violation.

After all these years of getting doubled and pressured at half court, you would think Dame would be able to figure out how to effectively break it. Yet he continually lets it confound him. He keeps throwing lazy lob passes out of the doubles. They either get picked off or allows the defense to recover. You have to anticipate and be decisive with the pressure. Ant already handles the double at half court better than Dame.

I owe Stotts an apology for this.

Especially after you can see what is possible earlier in the game. They throw the ball into the Hart. He dribbles it around a little bit near the paint, then throws it out to a wide-open Anfernee Simons, who drills a three pointer.
