The way that photo is taken makes it look like CJ is training to be a LB for the Browns.

Yep, CJ and Zion are training this offseason by taking turns bench-pressing each other.

It looked to me like Zion was getting ready to have a little pregame snack.

Just hoping he stays healthy. I really enjoyed watching him out there play.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Watching Zion last night: when he was on the court, he did look like an unstoppable bucket. Closest thing to Shaq since Shaq. But at the same time, he sucks at defense and can't stop fouling. I don't think you can build a team round him. I don't think it's a coincidence that last season's red-hot Pelicans have pretty much vanished since he came back.

Yeah. He is an unstoppable force offensively, but plays defense like old tail-end of his career Shaq. The roster construction for NOLA is not going to take them where they want to go. They really need to trade Jonas and get a mobile 5.

It was astonishing to see that Ant, who was guarded by CJ (not a defensive genius) was hunting the switch for Zion almost every possession in the 3rd quarter - because he could do whatever he wanted against him. He is a very good player, but I think I wrote it in the game thread, BI is the Pelican's best player and by quite a margin at this point. Zion plays like a poor man's Giannis on offense (which is not a bad thing) - but his defense in the modern NBA is going to be a problem.. This also means that the entire love-fest with the Pelican might be overblown. Their best player is a Jeremy Grant level player (better on offense, not as good on defense). That's a playoffs team but not a contender.

Yeah, I've thought Zion needed to lose even more weight for his body to withstand the power and speed that he then has to come down from. He lost a lot of weight from his peak, but he needs to lose more it seems. I love the kid's talent (wish we had him), but I do worry about his body.

I think you beat Zion by taking it to him and making him defend. Tire him out. The last game against Portland he was gassed down the stretch because he was doing everything for them on offense. Granted, BI was not there but he carries a heavy load.
