Why did they quarantine the healthy for the first time ever? Doctors were punished and censored for talking about life saving medication. We are ruled by sociopaths, but not enough realize it.

I was never quarantined while healthy.

But healthy people have been quarantined during every pandemic ever. If there is a risk that you were exposed you typically get quarantined.

We've never seen a more contagious illness than COVID. Nothing even close.

I know literally dozens of people in the medical field and business, etc who have all been vaccinated and boosted...wore masks and none of them has had an issue with infection. I had a heart surgery while vaccinated and didn't get an infection. I don't buy that unless the stats are taken from people with toxic diets and really poor health to begin with....I've been immersed in the medical community with my heart all through the pandemic and there's a reason they wear masks and recommend vaccinations. The sketchy part of their assertion there is "may be more susceptible" that's pretty safe to assert. We may have car accidents as well. My circle says scientific method has been correct about public safety measures and vaccinations. If anyone should have had a setback from this shit it would have been me as I was operating with a bum ticker and in and out of a hospital that had covid patients in it....my doctors and nurses avoided getting it and so did I. My son got it from his workplace and had a mild case and was fortunately vaccinated but he had to work through the pandemic and his office had a wave go through. In some cases it's unavoidable but the deaths from covid are overwhelmingly unvaccinated or disabled people with weak immune systems. My wife is boosted and just went back to Taiwan for 5 weeks to visit family all over the island and she didn't get covid or infections either. The anti vax community is really not being smart about this global situation at all....they've just politicized it unfortunately but around the world there aren't all these two party bickering divisive rants going on about it...it's just a public health hazard and dealt with like SARS was or Polio. Because of the quality of our vaccines we achieved a lot more herd immunity than China which had shitty vaccinations....Taiwan had good ones and they are pretty safe compared to China. ( I know....long rant)

that is an opinion piece by a random journalist and has been refuted. viruses evolve to evade immunity. this is how natural selection works. to attribute this to vaccines is asinine. please don't spread this kinda reactionary nonsense with gotcha headlines that are designed to get clicks and nothing more.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...04e754-8cfd-11ed-b86a-2e3a77336b8e_story.html

Jeremy Luban, a virologist at the University of Massachusetts, says XBB.1.5 has made a massive leap above existing variants. He compares the other currently circulating variants to athletes slowly shaving off a hundredth of a second on the 100-meter dash. But XBB.1.5 is like Usain Bolt, suddenly smashing the old record by a huge margin.

That’s one reason XBB.1.5 infection rates are shooting up fast. The other is timing: Winter is when past waves have surged, driven by weather and holiday gatherings.

How are vaccines affecting this trajectory? A Wall Street Journal column under the headline, “Are Vaccines Fueling New Covid Variants?,” makes the argument that XBB.1.5 started in one of the most heavily vaccinated parts of the world — the northeastern US.

But the headline is misleading, because XBB.1.5 didn’t acquire its immune-evasive power in the US. Rather, XBB.1.5 is the offspring of two previously circulating variants, called XBB and XBB.1, which probably arose somewhere in Asia, said Jesse Bloom, an evolutionary biologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. The original XBB was the first variant known to have emerged through a process called recombination. Two versions of the omicron variant BA.2 must have infected the same person at the same time and swapped genetic material to produce something new.

Right off the bat, XBB was better at evading immunity from past infections or vaccines than any previous variant, according to several published studies. XBB.1.5 is not more immune-evasive than XBB, said Bloom, but developed a mutation that makes it more transmissible by better attaching to the ACE2 receptor on cells.

So, yes, vaccines do put evolutionary pressure on the virus and in that way steer its evolution. But it’s misleading to suggest that vaccines are making our situation worse — without them, we’d still see immune-evading variants, and those infections would be causing more deaths.

While doom-and-despair stories may always get more reader attention, Roby Bhattacharyya, an assistant professor of medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, told me that despite being dubbed a “super variant” on Twitter, XBB.1.5 is unlikely to cause the sort of massive spike in cases, hospitalizations and deaths that the original omicron variant brought last winter…

appears from my very rudimentary search of the symptoms, wifey and I have the XBB1.5 variant.

headaches, extremely dry throats, sinus ache, slight GI symptoms. hope we too can get out in a couple days. the sore throat is wild-- can't seem to get enough water.

also almost certain we picked it up on a packed subway car when we were the only two people wearing masks on New Years day.

Nebraska falsified their state covid stats for the sake of keeping their gazillion care homes in business. Many other states did as well...predominantly red states. China did the same thing. More people died from covid that were written off as dying from things covid caused like pneumonia or heart failure..

Is the data accurate? I don't know. It's a biased source...
