Altman has assembled some really poorly balanced teams lately. Either he's had all guards & wings with no bigs, or, like now, he's got a lot of bigs with poor only a good wing or two
Injuries deserve a mention in this poorly balanced mix. Star transfer wing Couisnard finally got into his first game of the year last night. Altman's other prize transfer is PG Keeshawn Barthelemy who hasn't played since November. Both were expected to be starters or at least main cogs in the rotation. STOMP
in three seasons at SC he shot 37% on FG's, 30% on three's and 65% on FT's. He has a career TS% of .471. So yeah, he's bad at shooting. He does get to the FT lie at a good rate but his career assist/turnover ratio is a fairly inefficient 1.22 Barthelemy isn't much better, except at FT's
He was 5 of 7 from the line last night... thats bottom of the list of things I might complain about STOMP
Ducks beat Utah Utes tonight 70-60 at Utah. Utes were 5-0 in conference before the game.Altman's strategy at the beginning seemed to be to let his 7 footers shoot threes. Bittle missed both of his but Ware was 2 for 4. Held Utes to 37% overall and 14% from three. Dante 17 points, 12 rebounds and two steals.
Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning gets portrait tattoo of wife Sauphia with several meaningful symbols Dan Lanning got inked. Oregon’s head coach got a portrait of his wife, Sauphia, tattooed on his ribs that includes the names of their sons, Caden, Kniles and Titan, as well as several symbols for each of the colleges where he’s worked. Artist Alex Turner of Black Label Tattoo in Eugene posted a video of Lanning’s tattoo on Saturday. “Shout out my brother @coachdanlanning for sitting like a rock for this,” Turner wrote via Instagram. “Was an honor and a pleasure my dude.” The tattoo includes the area code 816 of the greater Kansas City area, where Dan and Sauphia are from, and a boomerang for the Outback Steakhouse where they first met while he was playing at William Jewell College and she attended Northwest Missouri State. There are also logos for Pittsburgh, where Lanning began his college coaching career, Arizona State, the state of Texas for Sam Houston State, Alabama, and 33-18, the score of last year’s College Football Playoff National Championship game in which Lanning served as Georgia’s defensive coordinator. There is also a yellow cancer ribbon for the osteosarcoma Sauphia had in her knee while they were at Memphis, surrounded by Oregon’s logo. https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/20...-sauphia-with-several-meaningful-symbols.html
A couple big time kids in the portal are visiting Oregon this weekend... Safety Evan Williams (little brother of Bennett) & a big DE & former 5* named Jordan Burch https://n.rivals.com/content/athletes/jordan-burch-211903?view=pv STOMP
Bennett Williams little brother Evan is a Safety who entered the portal after excelling at Fresno State has just committed to Oregon. He was 1st team All Mountain West in 2021 and 2nd team last year slipping likely because of an injury that kept him out of 4 games. I'm pretty sure he's got 2 years of eligibility left. STOMP
Cam McCormick has entered the transfer portal and will use his 8th year of eligibility someplace else.
Love Cam and wish him the best... btw, he's got both an 8th and a 9th year of eligibility left. I've read that the guys who're past the 4 years of their original scholarship are the most likely to have their slot given out to all these new guys they're bringing on. STOMP
