So in Oregon you could at least cook 3 months out of the year?

completely disagree...having good cookware distributes heat evenly and cleaning isn't even comparable in my view. We cook at home almost all the time and I've got several cooking stoves, woodstoves, propane, and electric...the electric is the kitchen go to unless power is out or it's too hot out to cook inside. The propane is on my deck or my camping stove if I want to bring it indoors. I have two outdoor wood cookers as well that aree a pain in the ass to cook with but work in a pinch.

I cook constantly and my glass top electric stove works fine. I do have very high quality cookware.
