Political assassination does happen but not easily. Reports are Putin is locking out everyone but a small circle of trusted flunkies. I would not cry if someone got to him but we can't count on shortcuts.

I sometimes think, what if the officers who tried to assassinate Hitler had succeeded? We can never know. We do know the unsuccessful attempt at least temporarily strengthened him and the officers died gruesome deaths.

I get it. So many are suffering, including ordinary Russians. I wish I could think of a short cut or some magic solution.

Maybe they can look at something other than assassination but more substantial than what’s happening now. Take out electricity, cyber attack, bring them to their knees. Perhaps the rest of the world needs to support them on the ground. I know no one wants that and it’s a last resort. Which is why I want them (the world) to figure out a one-time, huge, event that ends this. There has to be a way.

Historically, Russians don't start grumbling until around a million deaths or so...

Before another year or so their oil wells and pipelines will be frozen (thereby ruptured) and out of commission. Likely for decades. They will no longer be able to export anything because no ships will risk carrying their cargo. And those that do will likely be taken by neighboring countries.

They'll be totally isolated. If Ukraine can hold out they'll have Russia beaten within a year. But Russia is going to do everything possible to win before then.

Zero offense to be taken here obviously. But how does S2 member Phatguysrule know this but Vladimir Putin does not? I mean, we know he’s a fucking lunatic. But if what you say is true, he either knows this - and he will do something absolutely horrific and devastating to avoid it, or he doesn’t…and that seems weird.

    No offense taken.

I think he likely knows it. His soldiers probably don't know it though.

Putin thought he'd win this war in a couple days. But he didn't know his generals had let the military and equipment get in such bad shape.

And Russia has no choice but to continue until they literally can't any longer. They will die if they can't conquer their neighbors. They are too old and nearly all of their young talent has left the country.

Putin will keep this up until he is assassinated from within or until he can barter his and his families way to exile in some paradise. Or if Ukraine does actually invade and gets ahold of him...

    Just my opinion.

he can’t barter out of this. He has committed massive amounts of murders. War crimes. We can surely “barter” if he’s that dumb and then kill/capture but don’t see that as realistic. If his death must come from within, great. How do we get to his people and offer them exile if they hand him over. That’s what I want to happen. I don’t get why we are just letting this continue.

His people are blind to it. There is really no opponent to kill him from within.

I'd be shocked if we could actually influence the people he's allowing to be around him at this point.

Unfortunately I just don't think it will be as easy as "taking him out".

There is certainly dissatisfaction in Russia but any organized opposition or even independence gets crushed.

Putin wasn't the first to say occupation will be a matter of weeks, not months or years ...,

You can always donate to these guys. They are 100% legit; show photos and videos everyday of their supply trips into combat areas to deliver supplies. Nobody takes a salary, 100% volunteers
    What are we supplying:
    • Protective gear & equipment (helmets, plates, body armor, safety goggles, ear protection…)
    • Clothing (winter uniforms, shoes, thermal underwear, gloves…)
    • Technical equipment (secure radios, night vision devices, drones, range finders…)
    • Medical kits and other necessary things (sleeping bags, generators, power banks, shovels…)
    • Vehicles

I don't think the officers, at least thsoe near the top, care. The people need to do something.

The best thing the world can do to get Putin out is to help Ukraine win the war. Providing long range rockets so Ukraine can strike supply depots that are now out of range would be very helpful. These rockets could also be used to stop all supples coming through Crimea. The entrance to Crimea is just the long bridge that could be easily destroyed. The exits into mainland Ukraine are two narrow isthmuses; it would be easy to make these impassable. Ukraine could promise not to use these missiles in any area that was recognized as russia before 2014.

Day 341. Russians continue offensive on three fronts, despite losses – Ukraine’s General Staff. Russian troops attack Ukrainian positions in Luhansk Oblast with huge numbers of infantry – Oblast Head. Kherson under massive Russian artillery attack, hospital damaged. Poland has said they will supply F-16's if NATO will approve.

With all the supplies already sent to Ukraine, they can’t take out these bridges and isthmuses? Why aren’t we sending long range missiles?

None of what they have reach far enough. They have a range of about 50 miles. I'm not sure what the rationale on not providing ATACMs is. Always seems to be fear of escalation.

As much as I hate to say it... I think the US wants this war to take a while. Our leaders want Russia dead and gone.

The longer this takes the more likely an outcome that is.

Russia will use every available resource. They feel they have no choice.

Read that Russia's top car manufacturer is having trouble finding auto paint.

Get out your hankies! Miss Russia cried she was shunned during Miss Universe pageant, especially by Miss Ukraine (can't imagine why) and Miss Switzerland. Also the competition was rigged against her and in favor of Miss USA, who did win, and Miss Ukraine, who didn't place.

Same old playbook. If I don't win it was rigged and stolen. How small minds think alike.
