<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Oddsmakers favor Colts, not Steelers next seasonESPN.com news servicesDespite winning Super Bowl XL, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the favorite next season. The MGM Mirage has already installed the Indianapolis Colts, who lost to the Steelers in the playoffs this year after being viewed as the favorite much of the season, as 4-1 favorites. The Seattle Seahawks, who lost Sunday to the Steelers, are the favorite in the NFC at 5-1.The oddsmakers also have the New England Patriots, winners of three of the past five Super Bowls, at 5-1.As for the champion Steelers, they and the Carolina Panthers are both listed at 6-1.</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2322062

Maybe it will work better for them if they are not picked as the favorite.

They were the favorites this year too, and look what happened. After Pitt beat them, they didn't know what hit them. They have the talent too, and if they do lose Edge, they probably still will. It wouldn't surprise me, but I hope it's Denver's year.

I dont even know how you can pick so soon bc there are so many good teams in the league and in the blink of an eye u can turn from disgrase to dynamic and powerful to pathetic. At the beginning of the year how many of you thought Seattle would be in the Superbowl? Not many. Next year a team like Jacksonville could play a team like the Giants in the Superbowl. A lot can happen in an offseason to turn a team around. but right now at this point in time I am going to say that it'll be a Colts vs. Panthers Superbowl.

I wouldn't put too much stock in edge leaving. People said the same thing about Faulk leaving and the COlts turned a 3-13 around into a 13-3.

Ooooh.....here's where the Steelers fans and I could get into a debate. Steelers(Champs) and the Panthers are both 6-1. I think if the Panthers add a good number 2 reciever to help Steve Smith like Randle El or Reggie Wayne or David Givens.......hell, even Brandon Lloyd. They will be a dangerous team and will win the NFC.

Seriously, how are the odds of us winning it all worse then the Texans or the 49ers who have like 20 needs. [IMG]

Never noticed this topic. The Colts will not make it anywhere next season. James is gone, so they'll probably end up drafting Laurence Maroney in round 1. And we all know he's not 1% as good as James. Without a running game, Manning and that Colts offense gets more predictable, so teams like the Bears and Patriots could throw some different things at the Colts, oh ya and the Jets Defense, because of Mangini.

He has the potential, I've seen him play in the Music City Bowl and he played pretty well, but he's nowhere near EJ right now.

Not only is James gone, the Steelers will have it their way with IND from now on as long as Ben stays healthy.

how do you figure that? The steelers won by 3 points. I know they basicly dominated the game but it is a far cry form "having their way". Remember the colts won by a ton the first time they played. There is not a single running back in the draft that is as good as Edge. not bush, not white, not washington. so that means nothing. A committe of rhodes and whoever we draft will do just fine. Remember when the colts lost Faulk in 1999. Everyone said they were doomed then too. Next comes Edge and a 13-3 year. Bill will make the right choice and put us in a good position to win.

I don't see it. Losing James? A top 5 back in the league possibly? Don't see it. However I'd like it to happen [IMG]
