With this icebreaker, speed dating between GMs accelerates.
    And good job by Brooklyn.

but I think Luka’s usage being high is the best way to utilize his skill set. Because he cause so much attention with the ball and is an awesome passer

yes, but lessening his burden could mean less fatigue in the playoffs. but ya, i don't this trade will make dallas appreciably better. they lose a lot on defense.

Cronin traded CJ, Powell, RoCo and Nance within a week and did so mainly for salary and payroll reasons. That took some balls

and it's debatable if trading for Kyrie shows a lot of balls or a lack of common sense

has a player ever been shopped so hard, by so many teams, to no avail, as Westbrook?

where's the StatMuse box for that?

Nets landed two starting caliber players, multiple picks, reduced their tax burden by about 30 mil while removing a malcontent.

this is a win for Sean Marks before they even play a minute of bball

Kyrie has been balling out of his mind but he also happens to be out of his mind. While I hope we will take big swings immediately and wish we would have in the past to get Dame help that makes sense around him and with our coaching philosophies, I don't envy Mavs fans right now. Kyrie has voluntarily sat out games... he is a constant PR nightmare and I don't think he can be counted on at all. Out of the two players with mental health issues on that were on the Nets roster, I would rather roll the dice with Simmons than fuck with Kyrie. Also I don't think Simmons would cost you two starters, a FRP and 2 SRPs... I think if you traded two starters for Simmons the Nets would have to give you around that same amount of draft compensation.

Great trade for the Nets. If Kyrie can keep his shit together (very doubtful he can) and his game can mesh with Luka's (not sure how that works either) it could be a solid trade for the Mavs but the Nets getting those players and the picks is a home run.

They could give us permission to talk to him so we could agree to an extension in principle before pulling the trigger on the trade but I don't know if they want to trade an extremely mobile big for an extremely immobile big. That's not me saying I know they don't want to... I just don't know. If a team is cool with always running drop coverage and believes they can get Nurk to pull his head out of his ass when it comes to finishing strong around the hole and making the simple pass instead of the stupid one... then he should have plenty of value to fetch a guy like Wood but that's a lot. I'm pretty sure there are at least a few teams out there that would like Nurk but I don't know if Dallas is one of them.

By him do you mean Finney-Smith, Dinwiddie or one of the three guys the Nets might draft with those picks?

they're currently 1.5 games ahead of the 11 seed and have very little depth. a prolonged injury to luka or kyrie for 2 weeks and they're in the lotto.

dallas havent re-sign wood yet, hes unrestricted free agent to be, so the question is: do they want to re-sign him, i dont think they would risk losing him for nothing

theres a high chance they dont like him as a player or they dont want to pay him what he wants or maybe wood dont want to re-sign
