The second most used lineup is our starting lineup + Eubanks/ -Nurkic and that lineup is +1.7. Still not great, but better than with Nurk.
I think Eubanks has been as valuable to the team as anyone. Not the best player, but he has been very good off the bench and when he's had to replace Nurk in the starting lineup. Low cost, max effort every night and a great teammate. Also gives us a little bit of that attitude that every team needs and the only other guy I would say that about is Hart.
Nope. What is interesting is to look at the Blazers best lineups from 2020 that had Dame, Nurkic, CJ instead of Ant and a couple of forwards. The D. Lillard - C. McCollum - R. Covington - J. Nurkic - D. Jones Jr. was +7.5 in net-rating. I think it is easy to say that J-Grant/J-Hart are better than R-Cov/DJJ - and there is no way in hell that CJ is +8 over Ant if anything at all. The difference is all in the offensive / defensive schemes - and it is clear that Terry was a better offensive coach than Chauncy and that playing drop-coverage with Nurk in the line-up is the only way to get anything close to what he can do well. Terry was underappreciated for playing to the strength of his roster and as long as Chauncy plays the way he wants to play, Nurk is the wrong center for this team. Just for fun, the D. Lillard - C. McCollum - R. Covington - J. Nurkic - N. Powell lineup was a ridiculous +13.4 That's basically a Dame, CJ/Ant, SG playing in the SF position, Grant >> Roco, Nurk - and that lineup was mega where the current one is underwhelming despite the fact that Grant is an upgrade and Dame is playing better.
Grant is a poor rebounder. I've never seen a guy with his length/leaping ability go after the ball so softly, like he doesn't expect anyone else to be going for it. Apologetic rebounding. It's very frustrating, corral that MFer!
