That was a really interesting video on Cam Reddish. I hadn't taken Thibs into account. it seems to me that Josh Hart is the perfect Thibs guy, hard-nosed, defense first, does the little things, etc. I also agree about the one-way door into Thibs' doghouse. You go in, and you don't get out. Hart also fits into their rotation perfectly, so they're overpaying a bit for fit, while we take a flier on a high-ceiling guy at a position of need.

Yeah, I think Schmitz has been a key factor since Portland hired him. Not sure yet if that is good or bad but Joe seems to be listening to him.

In the season when Reddish actually shot a lot of threes, he made 38%.

I don't think the issue with Reddish is his talent. And that issue describes pretty much every failed lottery pick ever.

Joe should be applauded - this is a great tanking trade.

Maybe that's because Reddish hasn't actually played yet. Get him on the court and watch the losses pile up!!

what I'd wonder is if Reddish does have some hidden skills that just need development and guidance is if Billups is the coach that can be the developer

I've watched Anfernee blossom, beginning to see Watford and Sharpe blossom....the lid is starting to crack open on Jabari Walker. For clarity, Im talking about smart basketball.

Can't wait to see this kid get there as well.

I guess there is some hope for him. Sounds as if injuries have been part of his problem. And after being traded twice, maybe he understands some things... Maybe he will be ready to listen to Billups.

What's unclear is if that's a travel. Too bad nobody commented below that video for clarity's sake. :(

Dame has a long and storied history of taking young guys under his wing and elevating them to an all-star and even all-NBA level.

    Oh, wait. No he doesn't.

He's a fantastic player but there's no evidence he makes young guys better.

I wasn't talking about Dame taking him under his wing and improving his skill level. I was talking about Dame taking him under his wing and showing
him what it takes to be a professional and work on his craft.

He asked to be traded from Atlanta because he was buried on the depth chart at the time. That was not a mature decision for a young player at the time to make. Bad advice by those in his ear is my guess. Much like Little he has had a lot of injuries that have kept him in and out of the lineup. So much like everyone else on this board, I do not have a clue about his skill level. Maybe he is a lost cause or maybe he just needs a fresh start. Either way, having Dame in his ear and watching how he goes about his profession can't hurt.

Interesting that at the end of the video, the Knicks were seeking a protected 1st round pick for Reddish. In the end, they send a protected 1st with him in the trade for Hart. To that end, I thought Cronin did quite well with the Hart move. Apparently there have been some questions about his work ethic, so it will be interesting to see how he attacks this new opportunity. Billups is certainly of a different mold than 'Sarge' or Thibs. But this is likely his last chance.

Hope he makes the most of it.

Yeah except that Cliff never scored more than 4 points in the NBA whereas Cam has gone for 34.
So I am holding out some hope.

Ah but 4 points in the 80s is worth 34 points these days.
