I’d do a Simons for OG swap. Then in 1.5 years sign OG to a more reasonable contract than we signed Simons. But I also put defense in a much higher regard if I was assembling a roster
The idea that we're going to have to continue to watch Nurk play in Chauncey's defense is a tough pill to swallow, let's just hope that Joe was fibbing to Nurk or as Nurk said something changes.
OG is in the conversation for DPOY this year and Bridges isn’t. OG is on another level defensively (this year) at least. Like it’s not even close (defensively) this year.
Bridges finished 2nd in DPOY last year, OG did not get a single vote. Per basketball reference, OG's DBPM this year is 0.6, Bridges is at 0.5 I think you are over-estimating OG's defense and under-estimating Bridges.
Not discounting what you're saying, but it triggered something in my mind...didn't Marcus Smart win the DPOY and in no way deserved it over the people who lost (i.e., Bridges)?

Not going to argue who deserved it more (Bridges or Smart). I will however commit to the idea that Bridges is a slightly better player than OG imho.
I think the difference is more than slight. Bridges is far more durable and has been expanding his playmaking skills while being a better shooter and comparable defender. And given the long term contract he has compared to OG who will be a FA after next season, the gap between the two is pretty damn big to me.
Here's a fun little idea to toy with over the next few hours... for some of you it will piss you off a lot if it happens and for others maybe you like it. I only think this would happen if Jerami is being really sketchy about re-signing and the team is worried about losing him for nothing.
