You're right and in another thread some people were saying they are looking forward to Shae getting more PT and maybe he will rebound just as well as Hart was. That might be where we get them but you are right they will come from different people on different nights. I just think, like we've seen a lot this season already, we will continue to see our guys make opponents miss once or even twice only to let them score off of an offensive board. Hopefully I'm wrong but it seems pretty likely. It just doesn't make sense that we didn't address that but maybe Joe doesn't care about how competitive we are this season because he knows we're not contenders.
Not really. I'd take the 5 seconds over Wiseman too, unless you really believe you can turn him into a starting quality center which he is so so so far away from right now. Let Detroit figure that out.
Some truly believe he is a bust of LaRue Martin proportions. If POR agrees (and are right) then they made the right decision to take the picks.
I am legit pissed off and I have been a Blazer fan since 88' - 9 ish kind of tells you I am an older fan and even though trading Clyde that hurt and the Jail Blazers I have remained loyal and still plan on it but this is legit the first time that it testing said loyalty cause at least back then I knew I could trust Paul even with Vulcan kind of messing with things. However now it's left in the hands of Jody who I have no faith in and a GM who for whatever reason is either just bad and/ or not ready if ever to be a GM cause we are on the cusp of Dame maybe finally having enough of this shit show and asking out. I know he wants to be loyal but at some point he will break and say enough is enough and my fear is we are very close to that point after today. As i mentioned watching Clyde want out hurt but if the same happens with Dame that would be soul crushing in terms of being a Blazer fan. This deadline more then any has shown a spotlight on just how inept this franchise is at the moment and it's breaking my fan heart and making me question / test said loyalty and that is wrong cause I have a feeling other fans are going through the same thing i am at the moment.
I'm sure it's not going to continue to be a thing... well I'm not sure but I'm very hopeful. We saved the billion dollar trust another 6M in salary at the trade deadline again this year... same as last year. We're not talking about dodging the lux tax or getting the payout that comes with it, we're talking about just saving dollars from the total roster salary. Probably not a trend we will continue to see but a little scary.
They are if you draft well. Or, apparently, make trades. The Blazers now have more trade assets - and they have Mike Schmitz - so likely know a bit more than before about drafting.
Did we effectively choose Knox and 5 seconds instead of Wiseman? I think James is prolly a bust but even i don't get that
Yeah but a young 7 footer who's been injury prone coming to Portland? We know how that story goes. No wonder we don't want any height on the team. That's not true at all. I had zero expectations for improving in any meaningful way for the rest of the year. Just because my expectation was reinforced with reality doesn't make the day "great". It just makes it yet another day in the life of a Blazer fan. The heart of the matter is that my expectations were so low due to our current ownership and due to the previous moves that got us to this point in the first place. So no, not great. Just more of the same.
