Wiseman has 1.5 seasons to show he's worth.....anything. Forget starting calibre, he's not even a backup quality center at the moment and anyone who has watched him play can see that. Blazers have enough reclamation projects on this roster they don't need more.
I mean.... After all the excuses about lack of size from the coach down to the announcers, they had a chance of picking up a big guy and passed on it
Kinda makes it seem like we just wanted free agents so that we can once again duck the tax after the grant extension next yr. Tell me im wrong here. Nothing will change until our cheap ass ownership goes
If your scouting says you need a certain player in the second round, you can buy the second rounder. More trade assets? 5 second rounders got Bey / GPII. If it takes that many of an “asset”, it’s not that much of an asset. Which is the point I was making. They aren’t that valuable. Id bet money that we end up selling some of those picks for cash considerations anyway.
Dude, he's barely played for a reason LOL. Although maybe he'll fit right in. Blazers don't really care about playing defense or players that can't grasp basic defensive concepts.
People close to the team keep peddling the idea that we'll swing big once we have all our picks. I dunno, I'll believe it when I see it I guess. Conspiracy theorists could say they don't even want to make the playoffs this season so they can keep peddling the idea that we can't make a move since we still owe our pick to Chicago.
I am not sure what your argument is here. The Blazers had some cap space, they tried to use it on GP2, they found an upgrade in MT and got some extra assets after that. Overall, that's a good day's work. You can't complain the Blazers got very little for an asset you believe is not worth a lot. The Blazers are short on talent because of the previous GM's bad roster building. The best way this team improves the talent level on the roster is via the draft. They brought a draft savvy guy as assistant GM and acquired draft assets. Seems like the logical way to go from here.
Between Thybulle, Reddish & Knox career averages are 22 ppg, 7.7 beds, 2.9 assist. I bet that increases significantly here.
Wtf did you guys expect Cronin could do with what was available/disposable? Get a freakin grip. Some of you act like all we have to do is figure out who we want and Cronin should be able to pull them out of his ass. If you haven't figured it out yet, Portland only ways of improving are a) through the draft and b) hitting on trades, which you can only do if you have something of value to offer. The one thing we should be enthused about is the FO draft picks the last couple years and now they have good assets to make improvements again next years draft. The reality is Dame's window is pretty long. His 2 biggest strengths are his shooting and his leadership. Both of those strengths have longer shelf lifes than any others which means Dame will be able to lead a team for several more years. Besides, now you have some new faces to rip apart with your unrealistic expectations.
