Don't confuse me telling you how I feel with telling you how to feel......that was unnecessary...I could care less how you react to this dviss. My post had nothing to do with yours her other than we disagree about Cronin and Jody...big deal...no it's not. Feel free to not watch the team all you like. I don't blame anybody for those choices.

It doesn’t matter if we fire Cronin now or he stays, nor does it matter who we hire as a new GM because the little negative nancys will just create new thread saying Fire the new GM,

This place is going down the tubes fast man.

    good post, and I agree

IMO, last season, people calling for trades were significantly overrating the value, outside of Portland, of CJ, Powell, RoCo. They were limited players with big flaws and questionable contracts who don't fit on many rosters. The same was true for Blazers players this deadline. Again, limited players on neutral to negative contracts who don't fit well into more than a few rosters

the only player that has some wide appeal was Hart, and the rumors seem to be he had indicated to the Blazers he'd be unlikely to re-sign. I was hoping for a little better player coming back for Hart, but I wasn't expecting a 1st round pick

you seem to know more about the CBA than I do, so maybe you can answer this:

as I understand it, because the Blazers used the full-MLE they still have the BAE available. That is for up to 4.1M. So then, is a player is bought out or waived by another team and clears waivers, the Blazers could offer that full BAE amount for the rest of the season; it wouldn't have to be pro-rated for a partial season. That would allow them to make a fairly competitive offer. Assumption there and I'm looking for some confermation

obviously, the cap to the full BAE will pivot on the margin Portland has under the tax line. Still, they might be able to land a decent player for the balance of the season. IIRC, that would mean they wouldn't have the BAE nest season

Portland still has the BAE available. I'm not sure if it has to be prorated or not, but it is a 2-year contract. You are correct that if they use it this season, it is not available for the following season.

I think the bigger question/point is which FA is out there that makes sense for the Blazers to use this BAE on? I'm not seeing who that player is... All the rumored buy-out players are fairly 'meh'.

yeah, it was more a theoretical point than a practical one

but every season, there do seem to be a couple of buyouts/waivers that are a bit surprising

I went back to bring this back. So all the one's who are licking Joe's sack now, can see where they were when this came out. I was one of the one's who said , give him time to prove what he says is the plan. I'm frustrated, but still giving him time to actually add some quality veterans.

I fed this thread to my friend ChatGTP...This is the response.

Delusional fans, caught up in the whirlwind of their own fantasies, are once again storming social media platforms to vent their frustrations about the general manager of their beloved team. With disingenuous arguments veiled in passive-aggressive comments, these armchair critics spare no effort in blaming the GM for every setback, real or imagined. Their irrationality becomes evident as they weave a tangled web of exaggerated claims and misinterpreted statistics, conveniently ignoring the complexities of running a sports franchise. It seems they are more interested in fulfilling their own ego-driven desires for instant success rather than understanding the intricacies of team management. Their complaints may be loud, but their ignorance and lack of genuine analysis expose the hollowness of their arguments.

I have actually been happy with what he has done so far. I guess we will see what happens over the next couple months.

Owners don't fire a GM that makes the franchise a ton of money. Portland can't fire the owner.
