Well, when the password is "password"...it's not hard to hack his account.

Matisse filmed himself in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics, and edited it into a four part documentary. It’s a great insight into both Matisse, and the Australian team.

Too bad he couldn’t hit his corner 3’s last night. When those aren’t falling he’s an absolute 0 on offense.

Yet, nearly the entire deficit came with him off the floor. -2 in 30 minutes of a 25-point loss is probably not insignificant.

If you are expecting him to make 3s….it is not going to happen. And that’s nothing new. He is a defender 1st always….. which is fantastic, because we knew that going in. ANYTHING we get from him on the offensive end is gravy.

Cronin has already said that when we make a move for someone he thinks will be a "needle mover", we are going to give up a TON, and it will seem like a lopsided trade.

Guys like that don’t make a lot of money. And I’m okay with that.

His shooting % from 3 isn't actually that bad. Career average is 33%, so it's not out of the question to think he could make some.

That non sequitur line about his lack of ability to make layups is total wiki chaos and quite hilarious.

The main issue I have with simply looking at shooting percentage is that it doesn't take into account shot difficulty. If Thybulle is making 33% (1.0ppp) on wide open shots because teams would rather take away Dame's playmaking abilities, then it's not near as good as him shooting 33% when defenses are playing him honestly. Dame averages 1.117ppp (points per/possession), so a player who doesn't require to be played honestly, will effectively drop Dame's PPP. That difference in PPP can mean a 3-5ppg game swing, which is massive.

This isn't to say Thybulle is a bad shooter, but I think it's important to take note of the type of shots he's getting, and why.

He costed us only 2 second rounders. Matisse with shooting in this league is going to cost at least a 1st or even two 1st. Like what we paid for ROCO.

He is only worth two seconds for a reason. Hopefully he can develop his shooting more being in a more encouraging environment and even more open look with Dame and Ant. (After we extend his for cheap. In the 6-7 mil range)

If he takes a reasonable ‘prove it’ deal he’s not a bad guy to have on your roster. I never understood the handwringing about him not being playable in the playoffs assuming he’s on an inexpensive deal. This is a team several players away—not one key acquisition away. I’ll take a Thybulle for 2 seconds, sure. With a side of 3 point shooting.
