See...that's what happens when you put lafreniere on the 1PP unit....scores a big goal and wins it in the shoot out.

What a game! Even have Grevy summoning his inner Dump! Another slow start by Igor but kudos to GG for sticking with him. The Rangers could have won the game 8-4 if not for Campbell. Amazing the crap talk on this board against a guy who's off to the best coaching start in Rangers history.

Yeah because having the number 1 pick in the draft who has 29 points in his third year and just scored his whopping 9th goal of the season is reason to get excited about the way the organization develops their young forwards. Same organization that has 1 cup 82 years. I repeat 1 cup in 82 years. Yet, with 1 cup in 82 years our fan base consistently believes this organization knows what they are doing.

Worked so well with the oilers and all their high draft picks...Laffy is no McDavid and ain't no pp time ever going to change that.

You sound like the Devils and Canucks fans in '94 singing "1940!"
I'll say it again, only one team can win the cup each year and the Ranges got a lot closer last year than a lot of us anticipated (Panzer had them in the finals since game 1!). They are on the same path this season. I'd say the Rangers as an organization is doing pretty well.

Just saw the highlights from this great comeback of a game as I can’t stay up for these late night ones anymore. On that first goal amazing with oiler standing 10 feet in front of Igor and not another ranger within 30 feet. Then he gets the puck and is whacking away 5 times before he finally puts it past Igor as the mercurial Miller does a flyby. 2nd goal no chance, should have had the third goal and 4th goal could have had but it was a perfectly placed shot by one of the elite goal scorers. Igor stoned them the rest of the game including 5 of 6 on the shootout. Kreids with a PP and a SH goal. Will be tough physical game tonight in Calgary and they’ll need to keep their eyes on that POS LUCIC who will probably be looking for payback tonight along with kadri

    Come on MEL!
Tax season time working 70 hours and at the office right now and i stayed up to watch the game lol.. j/king

1st period Igor looked slow and disinterested, hell i even called for him to be pulled just to wake the team up like Keenan would do with Richter. but he came alive big time in the second and in the shootout..the team played a way better game in the third allowing only 7 shots on goal.

It’s interesting how you go out of your way to talk down our young players who are supposed to be the future of this team and cost controlled. It’s like you want them to fail for some reason.

It's bad enough we have retards like Al in our fan base that make child like, retarded comparisons and have zero balls to admit the organization doesn't develop young forwards properly. As I've said many times before. No other organization in hockey takes super high draft picks and gives them basically no pp time and gives them role player ice time. Only the dumbass Rangers. I mean, using McDavid as an example. Talk about shit for brains. How about using Hughes. Or Hischier. Or Stutzle. Or Rantanen. Or McKinnon. Or Dubios. Al seems like a nice guy but he's not very bright on many things with the Rangers and how to develop young players. He's loyal. Al is not alone. We have an incredible amount of dumb fucks in our fan base who always think the organization and coach know best. One cup in 82 years. Enough said.

If the Rangers had chosen one of the players you listed the same stream of constant criticism would be directed their way Dump. Right now Hughes looks great but he's out with another shoulder injury - no bueno for a small speedster. I would still take Laf over Hughes because I think he's the better player in the long run. It's hard for you to mask your feeling s for your true love the Debbies Dumpy but I still think your boys are going to drop as the games get more physical. After they get eliminated you can take off your Marty jersey and come back to the fold of misguided Rangers rubes/fans and continue our sorely needed hockey development lessons.

Grevy, I was referring to your McDavid insult, a little crude but the homoerotic nuances that Dumpy has made famous were there.

I think every poster in existence will have had a disagreement with Dump at some point, but a team that has 1 cup in more than 80 years, despite its resources and appeal, should get tons of criticism, and its handling of young players is a valid one.

It has been beaten to death, buried twice, dug up and beaten again. God forbid fans are happy the team is winning. The wet towel has has to be thrown in there.

I 100% agree when Laf and Kakko were drafted the coaching left something to be desired and their development was somewhat retarded but I 100% disagree that Laf and Kakko are victims. They have been given every opportunity to succeed, the organization's attitude towards youth development the last 5 years has been 180 degrees opposite. Top draft picks have been given immediate NHL ice time instead of languishing in the AHL for a few years until one of the Rangers overpaid over the hill marquis signings finally retired and opened up a spot on the roster. Even obvious busts like Lias Andersson were given NHL experience.

Since GG has taken over the Rangers have won at a higher rate than Keenan's brief tenure, top players have had career seasons, the PP has gone from a joke to a legitimate threat while the road PK is tops in the league. Last night the Rangers scored 4 or more goals for the 7th straight game - hasn't been done by a Rangers team in 32 years. The 3 #1 picks are all on pace to shatter their previous scoring records and they have become a legitimate scoring threat every time their line hits the ice with the same 15 minutes of ice time. GG takes the team to a 2-0 lead to get to the Cup and they finally wear out so Drury make moves to make the team better in the off season and then pulls off a lopsided Tarasenko trade that nobody saw coming with a huge solid #6 dman - brilliant! Once again they are poised to make the playoffs yet we should focus on the past Rangers futility winning the Cup. No thanks - Let's Go Rangers! - the past is the past and unchangeable but we can root for the future. GG also gives great postgame pressers - very honest.

No...that is not true...what I do is not have these huge expectations and make them work for their position on the team and not sacrifice the current players to breast feed kids.
