Having a Reaves type player as your 12th forward has nothing to do with getting Kane. When a player like Kane falls into your lap you add him every day of the week. That is a no brainer. Replacing Vesey or Motte with a Reaves type would be better for this team the way things ended up playing out.
They already added Tar. Kane is a luxury and not necessity. They could've gotten someone like Bertuzzi instead to address that need.
