Both sides had to have known the second the deal was signed it would only be for one year because he is due an 11 million roster bonus, non-guaranteed. Which means, "Ty we will pay you for a year so you can play, but dont expect to be here next year"Plus, after watching him for a full year a few things became clear to me.1) He has lost a step due to the ankle injury. As shown by the Jets using Rookie Justin Miller on faster recievers such as Steve Smith instead of Law.2) He gets a ton of penalties due to the "Ty Law" rules, he never really adjusted his game to the new rules.3) Because of 1 and 2, he has become alot more agressive going for a lot of Interceptions to make up for his lack of ability as a pure cover corner.I was shocked when he was named to the Pro-Bowl personally, I honestly think he made it solely based on his name. Im not too worried on the Jets replacing Law, because we have some talented youth in Justin Miller (2nd Round Pick last year), Derrick Strait (3rd Round Pick 2 years ago), and the reliable David Barrett.
I've never heard of any of those Corners except for Justin Miller. I'd take ball-hawk Law over those other 2 guys any day.

PS: Derrick Strait was also the guy who won Defensive Player of the Year his senior year in the NCAA. So he has some talent.
He came back from a foot injury and still got 10 picks he was out of shape to hes a knowlegable veteran that could help out any defense but 10 mil might be to much. ive heard hes talking to the cheifs and fins
