Mexico vs Canada (huge brawl when they played two WBC’s ago)

Japan beat Korea, so if Australian takes care of business against China and Czechia (as we should ); Australia will qualify for the knockout stages for the first time ever!
 
The environment in this dr Venezuela game is crazy!!! It’s like a playoff game atmosphere in the first inning of the first game

these teams are absolutely loaded too. If you love baseball you should be watching this on fs1 right now, this is baseball at its best

Jeez....GBR relief pitcher last seen in single A pitches against a guy who hit 46 HRs in the majors......what could go wrong?
 
A loss to Japan, but not embarrassing. Ohtani is my favourite player, he’s something else. Win against Czechia later today, and we’re out of the group stage for the first time ever! I’m nervous.

Yep, Japan is looking tough. The game has been big there for a while but has really exploded. Ichiro affect maybe....They might start kicking butt at these things....Feels like the level of play is getting really high there.
 
Bad start for the USA against Mexico. Nick Martinez doesn’t look good so far giving up a two run home run smh.

offense is going to have to bail out the pitching

Jack O'Loughlin. Last Sunday I actually watched a couple of games at the club where he played his junior baseball. Good to see a local lad do well, inspires the next generation.
 
Puerto Rico throws 8 no hit innings against Israel.

5 way tie breaker is awesome.
 
A 3-4 loss to Cuba means that Australia is out. Australia played well, but Cuba was just too good on the day. Very proud of how we’ve played in this tournament. Plenty of young players who played well and will be at the next one. Definitely some players who will pick up contracts based on their performances.

Dammit, just watched the condensed game.
Aus had their chances for sure but Cuba is a tough out.

No need to hang your head over losing to Cuba...they live and breathe baseball there...always a powerhouse team. Two ways to get to the US from Cuba...one is a raft and the other is a 100mph fastball!
