Title says it all. Tweaked my back lifting weights which means no work for a few days. Which means you’ll be graced by my presence the next few days. Let’s get this place poppa lockin!
Oh man, you don't realize how much you use your back for EVERYTHING, until you tweak it. Hope you don't have any sneezes of coughs upcoming.
I have had so many degrees of back pain over the years. The worst was when I hurt it so bad that I could not walk. Unbelievable amounts of pain. I don't know how athletes who have back spams are able to play at all. It can be completely crippling.
Yeah this one is similar to ones I’ve had before. I don’t think it’s anything too serious but damn it is uncomfortable. I had back spasms one time and it was scary. One of the more painful things I’ve experienced.
I learned whenever I have back pain...lie down on your left side in the fetal position and stretch out the back muscles...old trick I learned from sleeping on the ship in the Navy in those tiny bunks.
lifted weights and threw out your back? That's nothing...I once sneezed and threw out my back! Also, back spasms only once?? Man...
Yeah, spasms can put a person down for a few days. Last time I had them wife put an icy hot on my lower back and I was surprised it helped.
I can usually link my back problems to worn out shoes or bad posture. One time I hurt it because I was trying to move some plants into the garage and I bent sideways to go under the garage door and bam..... out of commission. The worst was actually bending down to pet my dog.... I was in so much pain that my wife had to help me get up the stairs. It's crazy how much we rely on our backs.
I have many times used deep water aqua aerobics to work out back problems. Can't recommend it enough.
Water exercise is great. I drove over to my folks and scored a few muscle relaxers I smuggled back to them from Mexico. Hope it helps. I’ve never taken them before. I get bored just sitting around at home. I’d rather be doing stuff.
I ruptured a disc between S1 and L5 back in 2002 and it was the most miserable 3 weeks of my life...constant agony. I got lucky and the first epidural did the trick. But I'm now VERY careful how I bend down to pick up something and if at all possible, not pick up anything over 50-60 pounds. I do something like you described for stretching the muscles/spine. Every morning before getting out of bed, I remain on my back, bend my knees and with my hands, I pull my knees to my chest and hold it for about 30 seconds. And on days where I know I'm gonna be on my feet most of the day or if I know I'm gonna do a lot of lifting, I'll take a couple of Aleve beforehand...I swear by that stuff.
I wish you all the luck climbing the stairs from your moms basement. In all seriousness, even medium back pain can put people out for days. The time I had it bad I was down for 3 days but luckily I was in between jobs so I just posted up. I get back spasms every now and then and they take me down good for a few hours.
Hurt my back while jumping to un wedge a basketball. Made it way worse when putting my son down in his crib. The pain was so bad for months that there were nights I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t stay in any position without excruciating pain. It ran down my leg and jolted me while walking. The worst experience of my life. The only thing that helped was acupuncture. I dealt with back problems for 8 years and would hurt it multiple times a year. Luckily, it’s been a few years now since I’ve had a flare up. A few years ago I was in the hospital for diverticulitis and had a CT scan. It revealed i had degenerative disc disease. All that being said, I would recommend you try some hip exercises if it’s your lower back. I purchased a digital copy of a workout set from John Lindala (sp). Changed my life! I hope you (and everyone who’s dealt with it) feel better
