I fully expect the Canes to play this game like it’s game seven of the finals. They be one and done in the playoffs.
Panarin is back to being a fucking waste of space. As usual. Games get more important and he shrinks.
How the fuck do they not know that continuing to skate backwards at your own blue line is going to lead to great scoring chances. Step up and take the fucking body.
They just do not shoot. To me Gallant cannot play Kane, Panarin, and Fox on the same PP unit. No one will ever shoot, and at some point the coach has to know that and plan accordingly. I much rather have Tara out there for Panarin or Kane.
This is why I said one and done. They are very talented without a doubt, but the pieces don’t all fit together properly. Too many east-west, pass first players and no one that will take control of the game and shoot the puck.
To me it is more about the mix than any individual player. You cannot play the 3 I listed together, just cannot. They all pass 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. You need to have some shooters. That is just poor coaching IMO. And these two games show even more the Rangers are much better off playing NJ in the first round. Inexperienced team that plays a speed skill game is in our wheelhouse. Then if we get by that, play a Canes team that plays all out physical every game after they may be worn down a bit in round 1. That's our best bet, and one positive if we lose both theses games.
I told you the Canes play the regular season like the playoffs I’m not putting anything into these games. I agree, putting those three guys on the power-play together won’t work because they don’t shoot. Last playoffs the Rangers were using the lob dump in effectively verse the Canes that’s what they need to do.
