Yeah, With the first pick in the NFLC Mock Draft, the Houston Texans select Reggie Bush - RB - USCHt: 6-0 Wt: 200Position: RBProjected as: RBPosition Rank: 1Date of Birth: 3/2/1985Birthplace: La Mesa, CAClass: JuniorHigh School: Helix HS(La Mesa, CA)College: USCScout.com Player Evaluation:STRENGTHS Acceleration Change-of-Direction Elusiveness AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT DurabilityA hard working skill player, Bush has homerun hitting speed and can produce in a variety of ways. May not be a back for everyone due to limited size yet can be very productive in a friendly scheme.Biography:2005 - USC:Won the 2005 Heisman Trophy award based on a school record 2,890 total yards. Rushed for 1,740 yards on 200 carries, for an eye-popping 8.7 yards per carry and 16 touchdowns. Gained over 100 yards eight times during 2005. Bush added 37 catches for 478 yards and two touchdowns for an average of 12.9 yards per reception. Also averaged 17.6 yards on 28 returns for 493 yards. Named first-team All-American by the Associated Press and many others. Bush's eighteen touchdowns came after plays averaging 31.4 yards. Bush's incredible final season at USC prompted him to declare for the NFL draft and placed him among the top picks for NFL clubs in 2006.2004 - USC:Reggie Bush took the Pac-10 by storm during his freshman year. He became arguably the Trojans most dangerous and dynamic offensive threat in 2003 as a third string running back. Never rushing for 90 yards or catching more than five passes in a game, Bush still managed to put up astronomical numbers for a true freshman. A threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball, Bush carried the ball 90 times for 521 yards, scoring three touchdowns on the ground and had 15 receptions for 314 yards with four scores through the air. He also went 96 yards on a kickoff return for a touchdown against UCLA. Trojan coaches will face a wonderful challenge in 2004 of designing new ways to get the ball into the hands of this gifted running back.2003 - USC:Bush comes to USC after a famed prep career at Helix High School in San Diego. With the 2nd pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select Matt Leinart, QB, USC.He is the most NFL-ready QB in the draft and I just don't see them taking another running QB. He will bring excitement to the city as well.

With the 5th pick in the NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers Select: OLB AJ Hawk out of THE Ohio StateHeight: 6-1Weight: 24040 Time : 4.52Strengths:- Simply all over the field on defense. Hawk just flies to the football, probably better than any other player in the country, evidenced by his 141 tackles during his junior season; that?s right, 141. Hawk?s on field speed was merely reaffirmed by his 4.4 40 yard dash that he ran at the ?05 Ohio St. pro day, stealing the show from all the outgoing seniors on hand. He can cover and play the run with the best of them. Weaknesses : - If there is such a thing, Hawk may be too intense, and too fast for his own good on occasion. He sometimes takes himself out of plays because of overpursuit, but it really doesn?t come back to hurt the team that much thanks to the rest of the talented OSU LBs.Overall:- A.J. is the best of the best at the Linebacker position in the 2006 draft, and may actually be the best overall prospect. The fact that he?s the leader of what may be the best linebacking corps in the nation certainly doesn?t hurt his chances of both major awards and a very high draft selection, but also nearly guarantees another huge season in ?05.Analysis Brought to you by NFL Draft Blitz

Posted career-best eight tackles vs. Arizona, including a trio of tackles for loss, while forcing fumbles against Washington and Oregon State. Playing in all 11 games, he made his way into the opening lineup nine times, including the final eight games. (Official Bio)2003 - Oregon:Suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opening quarter season opener at Mississippi State. (Official Bio)2002 - Oregon:Few freshman have come in with such high expectations for immediate success and contributions. This heralded recruit didn?t disappoint in his first season and went on to play in 12 games after missing the season opener, and broke into the starting lineup vs. Arizona (fifth game). Aside from finishing the season second on the team in tackles among the down defensive lineman, he showed impressive quickness and agility blocking kicks vs. UCLA, USC and Washington. With the 9th pick of the 2006 NFL draft the lions select: Positives: An experienced pass rusher, Tamba Hali might be the most polished of all defensive ends in the 2006 NFL Draft. He is a natural athlete with good size and speed to match up at the next level. Hali sprung to the top of the draft board with his phenomenal senior campaign. He is a leader and a workhorse. Hali has put up big sack numbers and was a main reason for Penn State’s success this past season.Negatives: Hali played on a very good defense in 2005 and didn’t truly begin to shine until his senior year. He doesn’t have the quickest reactions, but good enough to make plays.Overview: Tamba Hali is an outstanding defensive presence and will really put pressure in the backfield. While he doesn’t have the best overall height, he has a good reach to get around the mammoth tackles in the NFL. Hali, with impressive workouts, could vault himself into the top 10 and one of the top defensive linemen taken. 2004 Junior SeasonHali was shifted from defensive tackle to end during spring drills and thrived in his new position. He was a primary reason why the Nittany Lions were ranked in the top 10 in four categories and were the nation's only team to not allow more than 21 points in a game. A starter in all 11 contests, he was selected second-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. Hali tied for the team lead and sixth in the Big Ten with 12 tackles for loss (minus-43 yards) and was fifth on the team with 51 tackles (29 solo). He added two sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and a pass breakup to greatly aid the stout defense. Hali tied his career-high with 10 stops and added a tackle for loss in helping hold the Ohio State offense to seven points and posted six tackles and a sack against Northwestern and Indiana in a stellar three-game stretch at the end of the year. He made four tackles against Iowa (three solo), including two TFL, and forced a fumble, in helping hold the Hawkeyes to two field goals. Hali posted at least one tackle for loss in 10 of 11 games and, in the one game he didn't, the season-ending victory over Michigan State, he grabbed his first career interception that set up an eight-yard touchdown drive. He was on the field for 734 snaps, highest among the defensive linemen, and sixth-highest on the team.2003 Sophomore SeasonHali played in every game, starting 11, at defensive tackle. He ranked sixth on the team with 53 tackles (23 solo), including six tackles for loss (minus-16 yards), one sack, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup. He was tied for third on the squad in minusyardage plays. Nagging injuries hampered him in several games, but he still managed to plug the middle effectively and post some outstanding efforts. In the season-opening win over Temple, Hali made six tackles with one tackle for loss. He recorded five tackles (four solo) and a TFL at Nebraska and another five-tackle day with two TFL at Iowa. He made a career-high tying 10 tackles at Northwestern and had six tackles (four solo) and one TFL in a win over Indiana. Hali made his first career sack and added three tackles in a narrow loss to Ohio State. He was on the field for 604 plays, topped by 66 against Northwestern and 63 at Michigan State.2002 Freshman SeasonBeginning with the Nebraska contest, Hali played in 12-straight games, and was one of only three true freshmen to see action. He made 10 tackles (five solo), including a hit for a three-yard loss in the 40-7 win over the Huskers in his debut. Hali made two tackles each against Nebraska and Michigan State and posted a season-best three stops in the Capital One Bowl contest with Auburn. He was on the field for 156 snaps. Cards are now on the clock

He has 28 rushing TDs in 26 career games (he has 31 TDs overall, the most by a Trojan by the end of his sophomore year), along with 8 games with 100 rushing yards. 2005: The hard-charging White, who provides the thunder to USC's offense, returns for his second season as the starting tailback as a junior in 2005. He is a candidate for the Doak Walker Award and All-American honors. He is on the 2005 Maxwell Award watch list. He had arthroscopic surgery to remove torn cartilage in his left ankle prior to 2005 spring practice. He sat out 2005 spring drills to concentrate on his academics. 2004: White started all but 2 games (Washington State and Oklahoma) of his 2004 sophomore season at tailback. Overall in 2004 while appearing in all 13 games, he rushed for 1,103 yards on 203 carries (5.4 avg.) with 15 TDs and caught 11 passes for 97 yards (8.8 avg.) with 2 TDs. He became USC's 23rd 1,000-yard season rusher. He ran for 100 yards in 5 games in 2004. A total of 676 of his rushing yards in 2004 (61.3%) came after contact. He had a team-best 17 TDs in 2004, the most in a season by a Trojan since Marcus Allen's 23 in 1981 (USC's opponents scored only 20 TDs in 2004). He also was the first Trojan to lead the Pac-10 in touchdowns scored since Allen in 1981. He sprained his right ankle against Washington and played the rest of the season bothered by the injury. He made the 2004 All-Pac-10 second team, Collegefootballnews.com Sophomore All-American second team and ESPN.com All-Pac-10 first team. In the opener against Virginia Tech, he had a team-best 78 rushing yards on 15 carries (5.2 avg). At BYU, he and Bush became the first Trojan duo to each break the 100-yard rushing barrier since Chad Morton and LaVale Woods did so against Oregon State in 1996, as he had 110 yards (with a 43-yard TD) on 17 carries (it was his second consecutive 100-yard game) and a 7-yard reception, while Bush had 124 rushing yards. He had 24 yards on 11 carries, including the game-winning 2-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter, at Stanford. He ran for 52 yards on 11 carries against California and caught 2 passes for 10 yards (with a 5-yard TD catch). He ran for 116 yards on 25 tries (his sixth career 100-yard game and third of 2004) with a 5-yard TD and caught a 5-yard pass at Oregon State. He ran for a game-best 118 yards and 3 short touchdowns on 16 carries (his fourth 100-yard game of 2004, including his second in a row, and seventh of his career) against Arizona (he also had a season-long 54-yard scamper). He had 51 yards on 14 tries against Notre Dame and added 75 yards on 16 carries and 13 yards on 2 catches at UCLA. He ran for a game-high 118 yards with 2 TDs (6 and 8 yards) on 15 carries against Oklahoma to eclipse the 1,000-yard season rushing barrier. 2003: As just a first-year freshman tailback, White emerged by the middle of the 2003 season as USC's top runner while coming off the bench. Overall in 2003 while appearing in all 13 games, he ran for a team-high 754 yards on 141 carries (5.3 avg.) with 13 TDs, plus he had 6 catches for 15 yards (2.5 avg.) with 1 TD and 2 tackles. He had a trio of 100-yard games in 2003 (1 shy of tying Charles White's 4 in 1976), his 754 rushing yards were the second most ever by a USC freshman (behind Charles White's 858 in 1976), he was the first true freshman to lead USC in rushing in a season, his 13 rushing TDs were a USC freshman record and his 14 total touchdowns tied the USC freshman TD mark (with Mike Williams in 2002). He made the 2003 Collegefootballnews.com Freshman All-American second team and Rivals.com Freshman All-American honorable mention and All-Pac-10 honorable mention squads, as well as being named to the The Sporting News Pac-10 All-Freshman first team (and he was Offensive Freshman of the Year), ESPN.com All-Pac-10 Co-Newcomer of the Year and Collegefootballnews.com Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. After running for 6 yards on 5 tries at Auburn and not getting any carries against BYU, he had a game-best 58 rushing yards on 10 carries with 2 TDs (5 and 20 yards) and made a tackle on special teams against Hawaii. He added 6 yards on 2 carries (with a 6-yard TD) at California. He then came off the bench to run for 140 yards-at the time, the most rushing yards ever by a Trojan first-year freshman-and 2 TDs (25 and 6 yards) on 21 carries at Arizona State (he became just the seventh USC true freshman to rush for 100 yards). Against Stanford, he became the first freshman (true or redshirt) in USC history to have consecutive 100-yard rushing games when he ran for 108 yards on 23 carries (both game highs) with 2 TDs (6 and 3 yards). He had 75 yards on 16 carries at Notre Dame and 29 yards on 9 carries with a 21-yard TD (plus he had a 10-yard reception) at Washington. Against a Washington State defense ranked third nationally in rushing defense (68.1), White ran for a game-best 149 yards-the most by a USC freshman (true or redshirt) and breaking his true freshman record of 140 set a month earlier at Arizona State-on 12 carries (a 12.4 average) with a TD, including non-scoring runs of 66 and 44 runs. At Arizona, White had a game-best 90 yards on 15 carries and scored TDs on runs of 1 and 43 yards to set the USC freshman season rushing TD record. He added 33 yards on 10 ties (with a 1-yard TD) and he caught 2 passes for 3 yards against UCLA. He ran for 34 yards with a 1-yard TD against Oregon State. He caught a 6-yard scoring pass and ran for 26 yards on 8 tries against Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

With the 14th selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select...Santonio HolmesAge: 22Position: WRHeight: 5"11Weight: 185lbsClass: JR(RS)Ohio StateExplanation: With T.O. inevitably leaving, the Eagles will need more offensive weapons for Donovan McNabb. While they would probably like a physical receiver better, Santonio Holmes' talent and playmaking ability is hard to pass up. Strengths:A vertical home run threat who can really separate...Plays faster than he times and is very quick...Runs outstanding routes and knows how to get open...Runs well after the catch and is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball...Has good hands and will make the catch while running at full speed...Displays solid ball skills...Physical and strong...Plays much bigger than his frame would indicate. Weaknesses:Has only average size...Lacks elite timed speed...Might have trouble beating the jam in the pros...Will let some balls get into his body...A willing blocker who gives top effort but his size will always limit him in that area...Was not super productive but he played in a run-first offense...Might not be a true #1 at the next level. Career Notes:Will be in his second year as a fulltime starter and is one of the most dangerous receivers in the Big Ten ... excels at separating from a defender and is difficult to cover because of his combination of speed, quickness and precise routes ... teams with Ted Ginn to give the Buckeyes one of the top receiving tandems in college football ... should be a leading candidate for postseason honors in 2005, including the Biletnikoff Award ... had a stellar year in 2004, leading the Buckeyes in receptions, receiving yardage and touchdown catches ... has caught passes in 18 consecutive games and has 87 career receptions for 1,318 yards and 14 touchdown ... had 10 receptions against both Marshall and Northwestern last year, joining David Boston as the only Ohio State receiver to reach double figures in catches twice in the same season (Boston did it three times in 1998) ... currently 15th in career receptions and 14th in career receiving yardage as he heads into 2005 ... also eighth in career touchdown catches ... became a starter midway through the 2003 season and has been a key element in the Ohio State passing attack from that point forward ... also returns punts and kickoffs ... has scored three touchdowns in his two games against Michigan. 2004 (Sophomore):Won second-team All-Big Ten honors ... recorded personal highs in receptions (55) and receiving yardage (769), and had seven touchdown receptions to pace the team in all three categories ... his top game in terms of sheer numbers came against Marshall when he pulled down a career-best 10 receptions for 224 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown pass from Justin Zwick ... the 224 yards against the Thundering Herd ranks as the second highest total in Ohio State history and is the highest ever by a Buckeye in Ohio Stadium ... the 80-yard scoring strike ties as the third longest in Ohio State annals ... also had 10 receptions for 99 yards at Northwestern, including a 21-yard touchdown catch that sent the game into overtime ... had a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown at Northwestern to record the fifth multiple touchdown game of his career ... best grab of the year might have been a 30-yard layout at Purdue for a TD ... his 12-yard TD reception against Michigan put OSU on top 34-14 near the end of the third quarter ... averaged 23.2 yards per kick return and led the team in all-purpose yardage with an average of 99 yards per game. 2003 (Freshman):Averaged a team-best 17.2 yards per catch ... stepped into the starting lineup following Drew Carter's season-ending injury at Indiana in week eight ... caught six passes for a then career-high 153 yards and two touchdowns against IU, including a 47-yard TD ... made his first start a week later at Penn State and caught five passes for a game-high 78 yards ... caught 23 passes for 344 yards and five touchdowns in the last five games ... had eight catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns at Michigan, including a sensational diving TD grab in the back of the end zone in the third quarter ... caught two more touchdown passes vs. Kansas State in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl ... finished the season with 32 receptions (third on team) for 549 yards (second on team) ... his seven touchdown receptions tied Michael Jenkins for the team lead and his 42 points scored ranked fourth on the squad ... returned seven punts for 30 yards with a long of 10 yards ... finished third on the team in all-purpose yardage with 578. 2002 (Redshirted):Redshirted and did not see any game action, but was very impressive throughout the season with the scout team ... With the 15th Pick, the Atlanta Falcons select CB/S Michael Huff from the University of TexasMichael HuffHeight: 6-1 | Weight: 205 | 40-Time: 4.45Official BioStrengths:Very athletic with excellent speed...A playmaker and ballhawk in the secondary who has a nose for the ball...Has a knack for taking interceptions to the house...Versatile and has experience at both safety and cornerback...Moves well and shows terrific range...Good tackler...Smart player with tremendous instincts...Comes from a program with a strong history of developing pro DB's.Weaknesses:May be a bit of a 'tweener who doesn't fit in at either safety or corner at the pro level...Will gamble at times in an effort to come away with a turnover...Needs to work on and refine his technique...Needs to get stronger...Was shuffled around throughout his career and was never able to concentrate on just one position.Notes:Thorpe Award winner...Brother (Marcus King) is a safety at Missouri...When it comes to making a big play in the secondary you won't find many who have done it as well as this guy at the college level the past few years...His pro position is still up in the air but with his physical tools it certainly gives teams a lot of options.
*picture me as Mel Kiper Jr.*Well, we are about halfway through the 1st round, and no real surprises, Texans took the athletic freak that is Reggie bush first, with Leinart and Young coming next. ADOV (ADropOfVenom) threw everyone a slight curveball, taking the 3rd straight QB, Jay Cutler from Vanderbilt. Then 2 straight defensive stars, AJ Hawk at LB and Mario Williams at DE. The best OLineman, and the 2nd player on my Big Board went next, as DBrick went to the 49ers, providing future protection to former 1st round pick Alex Smith. Two consistent Dlineman went off next as Ngata and Hali went 8 and 9. The 3rd USC star was taken as LenDale White went to the Cardinals. Possibly a bit of a reach, but Vernon Davis was taken #11 to the Rams, ignoring many needs on defense, especially in the secondary. The Browns went to improve their D, taking OLB Bobby Carpenter, as did Ravens getinng depth at DE with Boston College's Kiwanuka. The Eagles, in reaction to the loss of star WR Terrell Owens, took speedster Santonio Holmes from Ohio State. Lastly, the Falcons followed up the drafting of DeAngelo Hall a few years with another great athlete in Michael Huff, who can play CB or safety. The Dolphins are currently on the clock....their one major area of need is QB, but with Lienart-Young-Cutler going off the board early, could they reach and grab Brodie Coyle?Ill be back at the end of the 1st round for more analysis.
