I believe there are top 10-20 players outside of Siakam, along with a few other win-now moves, that could easily make this a top 4 team in the West.

    I don't think Siakam is a top 20 player.

Who is the worst player you have in mind that turns this into a top 4 team in the west, just so I have a frame of reference?

Great question! Let me think about my top 10 and then come up with the best player outside of that list. Give me a minute!

Let's go with this top 10 list...

    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    Kevin Durant
    Stephen Curry
    Nikola Joki
    Joel Embiid
    Jayson Tatum
    Luka Dončić
    LeBron James
    Kawhi Leonard
    Dame Lillard
    -------
Morant/Mitchell/Butler/Booker- Talent would probably be enough, but the fit is weird with Ant/Dame. I'd assume after trading Sharpe for Ja level players, the Blazers could get a high quality SF for Ant. Probably enough for them to be top 4.

PG13 - Probably enough talent. Again you have to assume a proper use of the MLE and getting vet min, win now guys.

Jaylen Brown/KAT/Bam/Zion/Ingram/Siakam are all pushing it. Would require other moves, but other moves could certainly be made.

Now, having said all that, simply keeping Sharpe and becoming a top 4 team in the next 10 years without making a handful of quality moves is also unlikely. Like I've said before. Neither path is a great one.

Looking at your list, we're pretty much on the same page here. It's just a matter of semantics.

Maybe we trade Sharpe for Vlade Divak?

I personally believe that Dame needs a very agile center - the opposite of Nurkic. And the team needs a PF thug; Buck Williams type. Let Grant play small forward. So a Center and a 6-9 - 6-10 power forward. Get rid of Nurkic, Little, Winslow and start shopping for Center and PF veterans.

If the Blazers don't get Wemby at 1, but get the ,say #2-4 pick area, i think that pick with Simons can get you Mikal Bridges. Then trade Nurk to Dallas for a sign & traded Christian Wood (UFA) ,who was hardly used by Jason Kidd as a bench player getting 15 -20 min. per game. Then you could add other key pieces for the bench, like (UFA) Seth Curry.

No, it won't get Bridges. Please let go of that fantasy. It took the Suns getting a new owner to let go of Bridges. Why? Because he is a seriously good player that is on a phenomenal contract. The Nets were offered four first rounders for him by a team trying to get into the Durant deal. They turned it down. The Nets don't need, want or desire Simons, Nurk or any other trash on our roster. That is the reality of the situation. The Nets want Bridges, move on.

I know this was more of a realistic trade for a star thread but I think we should be thinking about trading for Dorian Finney Smith or Royce O’Neal. Maybe even for both of them

True, but do you think that knowing our draft position is going to end the debates around here?

Terrible trade? Trying to come up with enough to get Bam.

Scoot (if we get the second pick) or Lowry for this year
    Sharpe
    Barnes
    Grant
    Bam

How about our pick, Raptor picks, NYK picks and Simons/Nurk/FVV. They get to clear Robinson off their books.

    I'd probably prefer that!

We'd be still be splitting timelines, but maybe Sharpe will be ready next year?
