Re: Texans thinking of trading off 1st overall pick?! I think they'd be pretty smart to do so. They almost have to pick Reggie Rush. I am a Davis fan, so i'm not sure that helps them all that much in the short term.Also the value is extremely high, since the top picks are all highly regarded. They could probably get quite a bit of value, and pick up a few good players at positions they need instead of getting somebody to play a position they are already pretty good at.

The drop down in talent between a Reggie Bush and a Matt Leinart, Vince Young, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, or even Jay Cutler, Mario Williams, Haloti Ngata, AJ Hawk, or Vernon Davis is not that much. They wont be able to rip off a team like the Eli Manning deal was.

None of those guys past the first 3 are impact players at key positions. Sure they are great players, but they are still the next tier guys. Any team that gets any of those players will be happy, but I would say a team offering a package for the #1 overall would be offering a heck of a lot more then they were offering for the #4 pick.You also have to take in account things like ticket sales and marketability. Nobody is going to sell tickets like RB ML and VY. Reggie Bush is one of the most highly regarded college players coming out in a long long time. Not only that but every media person in the country rides his jock making him extremely marketable. If there was ever a complete package first overall pick...it's him. The Eli deal was just robbery, not sure the Texans could pull something like that off, but I do think they could get a nice package for it.
Re: Texans thinking of trading off 1st overall pick?! Funny that the Texans could get a steal with multiple draft picks after a little fiasco they had with us. They gave us 4 later-round picks for our first rounder in like 2003 I think, and they took Jason Babin (who?) with that pick.

There are probably a good 25 teams that would like to have a nice try at him through trades and why not? They are comparing Bush already to a Gale Sayers which is damn hard to do before you even go pro. A trade I think would be in all fairness is to the Jets. I would like to see #1 pick, David Carr and the 3rd round pick for #4 pick, Chad Pennington, and John Abraham. I think the trade would benefit both teams in different ways.

I think the trade would benefit both teams in different ways.</div>Chad Pennington with his deal is basically untradeable because nobody would take him on for that kinda money....However, I would love some kinda deal where we got Carr and the #1 Pick, even if it costed us Abraham, our #4 pick and something else (More likely an 07 #1)I dont think the Jets have much interest at all in trading up though, we have many holes to fill and I see the Jets trying to get more picks, not give them up to trade up.
