If it is completed after the new league year Nurk (16.8), Nas (6.2), Knox (3), Keon (2.8) and Trendon (1.8) get us to 30.6M multiplied by 1.25 (or 125%) and you get 38.25... Simmons is at 37.9

That doesn't mean this is anything close to a good idea. I was about the Ben Simmons reclamation for a while but he's just become a bigger and bigger risk. Two years and 37.9 and 40.3 seems like it would be worth more than just the 21st pick in this draft. Maybe pick 21, the rights to pick 22 and a future first, let's say the second worst pick out of the three they will have in 2027. That might be enough to make the move even start to make sense.

SGA is a 5 year vet, not a young up and comer.

The question you asked was does OKC have a better young player then Shaedon? SGA is just 24 & obviously still getting better

I’m interested in the pick. Simmons can take another year off if he wants.

How about we limit it to players who could have qualified for the rising star game? Which would be rookie and sophomore players from 2023.

Then what would be the answer?

Their top pick didn’t play, so seems a bit disingenuous.

Adding Shaedon Sharpe was much, much better than losing in the first round of the playoffs.

The other two Thunder players I mentioned previously. Williams had a tremendous rookie year (probably finishes 2nd in the ROY vote) and Chet has the potential of being an impact frontcourt player.

it was a dumb way to make the trade, it’s tied our hands in making any future trades until the Chicago pick is done. Chicago has us over a barrel, they know we can’t make any big trades till the pick has been completed, so yeah they could potentially hold out and force us to give an additional asset again making this a shitty trade.

At this point I feel that if we somehow landed Wemby, won 3 chips, HCP would still say “I still would’ve preferred the playoffs”.

Chicago does not have us over any barrel. That's a nonsense narrative that no journalist has reported and that Joe has said he already has a solution for. Keep on spinning your paranoid yarns though, if you want to.

Chet could be very good. I’m looking forward to seeing him play.

Honestly, seems pretty reasonable if the Bulls GM is any good.

The fact is that there is precedence set for this. If the Bulls front office wants to try to extort us, it won't look good for them.

The only fact I have to go on (and no the insistence of guys in this forum is not a fact) is that Joe Cronin said he has been in contact with the Bulls front office often and accessing our future picks won't be a problem. If they were trying to hold Joe over a barrel I don't think bravado from him would be a tactic anyone would take.

He literally said “we would have to incentivize them somehow, it’s whatever we work out”. Followed by “there are a lot of variations”.

And if the Bulls hold his feet over the fire, no other GM is gonna think it looks bad for them. They’re gonna think, “probably shouldn’t make that stupid kind of trade” and “good for them getting the most they can”.

And he never said “it wouldn’t be a problem”. He said they talk and say “we will call you if things heat up”.

Wouldn’t we have to be in the playoffs to win a championship? You actually got one of these tool boxes to like your post, baffling.

no need to get upset just my opinion. Question for you, what if Toronto said ok we will trade you Siakim but we want 3 1st rounders can we currently make that trade right now? If Chicago doesn’t agree to take the 23rd pick this year we won’t be able to trade any 1st rounders during the off season because we don’t when our pick will go to Chicago (correct me if I’m wrong)
