Joe has said a lot of things. I'm not sure why we would believe what he has to say about the future of this team. That doesn't mean Chicago wouldn't make a deal with us, but Joe saying not to worry about it doesn't mean much.
The 23rd pick is not the only way to access our future firsts. They could take a second or just cash like has been done several times to free up picks for big moves, and take next year's pick guaranteed. Chicago could say no to the deal but in so doing they would probably cause us to trade Dame and start a youth rebuild which would make it iffy if they would ever see that pick. Also due to the pick not being guaranteed, it has very little trade value for Chicago in it's current state but if they had a guaranteed pick the 23rd this year or our pick next year unprotected that would be worth a lot more in a trade. It's a win win and that's why it has cost virtually nothing to do in the past. I've already looked up the seven or so times that protections on traded picks have been modified. Just search it and you will see that no one has ever had to pay more than a second rounder and/or cash to make the pick they owe a team more valuable.
Hope you’re right but I know if i was Chicago’s GM I’d feel like I had the upper hand and I wouldn’t take anything less than NY’s 1st or a good young player back. We are only a few months away and we’ll find out how Chicago plays it.
Yes the Blazers can trade 3 first rounders currently. They'd be conditionally 2 years after Chicago pick just like the Lakers did when acquiring Nash and Dwight. No agreement with Chicago is necessary.
The Knicks first rounder wouldn't be them doing anything unprecedented, that might be seen as the biggest favor they could do us... if that's the way both teams chose to go because that leaves us with all of our picks which means up to 5FRPs and 4 swaps on draft night. If it's not the 23rd pick though and we do want to access our future firsts, Chicago getting our 2024 first rounder unprotected along with a second rounder or cash would be the likely deal and I would think that an unprotected pick with a sweetener might be worth more than the 23rd. I guess that's what is up to the two front offices to decide but I was just saying that the Bulls won't likely ask for more than that... only because the NBA is extremely political and they don't want to be seen as the team that is unprecedentedly hard to deal with.
He sure was. On a close up he was helping him with what to do with increased attention to him on the court.
sure I can...Miss McNeil from the 6th grade. It's been 60 years and the thought of her still makes my junk wiggle a little...not much, but a little, which these days seems like a lot
Yeah his mobility is insane. The guy really will be able to defend the perimeter and recover to protect the paint, without question. Also he'll be able to get to the rebounds of some of his threes faster than anyone else because no one will be able to high point the ball where he'll be able to.
KAT is a big boy. He looks small next to Gobert....and Gobert looks just as small next to Victor. Damn!
