Hawaii draft party on a plane sounds awesome. Not sure how I convince the wife we need to do that with the two little kids.

In fact, I was in Hawaii when Dame hit the .9 shot. A friend of mine was there and we had met up to watch the game at a bar on the beach. The crowd was stuffy but we were quiet and respectful. With me were two bored kids and with my friend a bored fiance. Anyhow, we had lost, everyone knew it, and we were signalling the waiter to assist us in drowning our sorrows.

And then, the shot that we've all watched dozens of times. We freaked the fuck out, jumping up and shouting and high fiving. Looking around the crowd wasn't pleased. I had sent my chair hurtling across the bar. "My apologies, my apologies," I said to an expressionless woman as I retrieved it. Then came the replay and we did it all again.

"We will always have Hawaii," we've said to one each other a few times in the years since...ah, Hawaii...

I was at the ESPN Zone at Disneyland and my kids were pissed that we hadn't gone to see the fireworks. The place went absolutely nuts when he hit the shot. Super cool memory for me anyway.

Welp. I mentioned this to the wife last night. She said she cant make it. But i should go. I sometimes take things for granted snd forget i married a keeper. :)

But wouldn't you want to be with the same people you were with last time to replicate everything? Would bringing people that weren't with you last time be a jinx?

For you, think of it as a win win. If we get, say, the 7th pick, Eric will be so mad that it got jinxed he will leave you guys in Hawaii. Then you get to live in Hawaii.

    Win win.

I remember the draft Portland didn't get first pick and everyone groused about the wasted pick on a low ceiling player .... Damian Lillard.

Still willing to send cookies in exchange for swag

    I don't remember this.

We had the 11th best odds that year for #1, so chances were quite low to begin with.

We were actually glad that Brooklyn's pick didn't end up top 3, so it came to us when they landed at 6.

Also, Dame was like this forum's consensus pick at 6 outside of a few loud Harrison Barnes fans. "Groused" is definitely overstating what was happening. Once the team posted his interview from his predraft workout on their site, pretty much everyone was all in on Dame.

Marang and Sprague will be doing a live party at Brix for the NBA Draft Lottery on May 16 right after Marang's radio show ends.

If it was just Sprague I would go. Marang ruins it all, per usual.

Brooke Olzendam is trying to organize a Draft Lottery party, but it doesn't seem the Blazers are wanting to kick in to help her out so far.
