Portland has a star, Brooklyn does not. Also, yes they made the playoffs, but it wasn't their scrappy young squad that got them there. They got there by being 10 games over .500 before pulling the plug and moving Durant. They were under .500 after that deal.

Our picks wouldn't exactly be amazing. Especially if Sharpe pops and in your scenario we got Wemby. They'd be terrible picks for a long time.

I don't see how we get Bridges without giving up Sharpe + the lotto pick...

And to make salaries work, Simons has to go out as well.

That's too damn steep. Simons/Sharpe/lotto pick is insane.

I still think it's too steep. Sharpe AND a high lottery pick is insane for Bridges.

The Blazers will likely get Siakam.
He'll be on an expiring contract.

There is no way we are trading Sharpe. Prized pick. Next gen star (at a minimum.) Can put fannies in the seats.Easy contract too.

I'd trade him as part of a package for Giannis

    But that's probably it.

Yeah, I'm not disagreeing it's a bad deal, but unfortunately I think it's one our FO will consider given the impetus for winning + the connection between Bridges and both Dame + Ant.

That said, the idea of getting Bridges last year for just the 7th pick would have been a good proposition, and this is even before Bridges showed the ability to carry an offense.

For me, I'm going to be unhappy if we continue to go forward with Dame/Simons as the backcourt of the future.

I'd be happy with Dame, but not really with Dame/Simons. And not with Simons if Dame is gone. No point to that IMO

Something like this would be worth considering though. I still hate the idea of giving up Sharpe, but the remaining lineup competes.

Funny how Chris Haynes tweeted out that there are “not dots to be connected” to dame going to the nets game. Was in town for other reasons…..
And nobody has talked about it in here

Except that no one is trading Giannis.

SO GLAD you are not our GM. That is almost the worst trade I have ever seen.

Washington finally decides to re-build. Starts the process with 2 lottery picks this year, Simons and Avidja.

Boston worries Brown will leave after the season. so they get a great scorer locked in long term.

Portland uses up a chunk of assets to land a great fit next to Dame. I'd only consider this if Brown extends, otherwise not worth the risk for 1 season, IMO.

Dumb question. Is it possible to trade a pick before the lottery? Can the spurs, for example trade their 14% chance at 1st pick? My guess is no since no one ever mentions it but wanna confirm
