Going to waste another great goalie's career without a cup just like they did with Hank. Fucking losers. No quit in NY. LOL
Forget all the other crap, I am still sitting here shaking my head how this f'ing team can score TWO goals in 6 + periods at home. It truly is astonishing. And I do not want to take a thing away from the Devs, but they scored 4 goals in two games, I don't count the empty net goal, and in no way should that have been enough to win both games. Worst case we should have won one holding them to 4 goals - if I said before game 3 the Devs will score 4 goals in games 3 and 4 combined, we all would have said yes please, and said sweep or worst case 3-1 Rangers. So yeah Devs deserve credit, but this is beyond that. Another sad effort with a series lead where the O as usual doesn't show up. Has to be something with the Rangers sweater or the NY pressure, because the names don't matter, this team just does not score in big spots in the playoffs, and it has been that way for a very long time. It has to be something bigger than the coaches or players.
Yeah they did, and your point Al? Do the Devs have all the talent we do upfront? Do the Devs have a Vezina winning goalie in net? Do the Devs have the playoff experience we have? Not following your point. The Devs scored two goals at home with a less talented team, against a world class goalie, and in their first two playoff games for their best players. What does that have to do with our boatload of stars like Z, Kane, Pan, Kreider, Tro, Tara etc not showing up in games 3 and 4?
The Devils did lock it down much better but two goals in two games at home is inexcusable. The fact that they learned nothing from game three is even worse.
I wrote above this will be a 7 game series. I have very little doubt the Rangers will win game 5 or 6, but that still doesn't change the fact that what we witnessed the past two games is a joke. And as usual the Rangers spit the bit with a chance to make it easy on themselves. And as usual even if they do win this series - coin flip now at best - they will pay for this down the road when they wear down and fall apart in the ECF. It is what they do, and why they continually come up short IMO.
Saddest part of all, I am getting to the point where I just don't give a sh*t anymore. You can only watch the exact same thing happen so many times before you say enough. And I'll add this, if this team loaded with star players, loses in round 1 against a rookie never played a big game in his life goalie, and a team with zero playoff experience, after being up 2-0, everyone should get fired from Drury on down. This would be an all-time playoff series loss for the Rangers - epic. That's reality.
It's crazy how watching most teams with goalie pulled, they make things happen for most of the remaining time and with the Rangers it's like they're on the defensive.
Flat as a pancake. And a good D and checking effort can do that to you, so again credit Devs, but the Rangers did nothing different and looked flat all game. Is that why their PP was terrible again? Is that why Trocheck was lazy as sh*t on the backcheck on the winning goal? Sad...
I'm not, I'm on this is all being irrelevant to me watch. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me 32 times, shame on me.
What is the common thread with all these teams, and looking flat, and not scoring in big spots? All filled with high priced vets. Fat on their contracts. Their emotion and energy comes and goes. Show up when they want to - or backs are against the wall - okay I guess I'll play hard and smart. Maybe it is time we try a different approach. Enough of these so called stars, and maybe more balance with lunch pail HUNGRY players. There is your common thread for the rinse and repeat New York Rangers year after year.
Speak of the Knicks - with the Bucks now down 3-1, they have a real legit shot to make the ECF, and have home court in round 2. Who would have thought that. And the fat and lazy Rangers will be playing golf in a week.
