Yeah, once your season is over, you can make trades again.

Has any team ever traded the "best chance" to win #1 pick? I can't remember any, but I'm also not following draft too closely since we've not been a lottery team in so long until recently. I wonder how teams value that

Why would Boston even entertain that trade idea?

Boston does it if they've got valid reason to believe Brown will walk at the end of the season.

    I don't think so.

    They'd still get better offers...
But then again, I value Beal as much as I did CJ.

The only thing I’d consider is how fast our GM should be fired if they pulled this shit.

Did Dame say he wanted us to trade a SG for another SG so we can bury Sharpe, another SG on the bench? Might as well trade Sharpe too. Or how about proposing trades at positions of need, not duplicating where we might be strong already.

There’s no “star” worth trading the potential Sharpe has for. I mean who are the best targets? KAT, Rudy, OG, Brown? If we keep Dame I’d consider Sharpe and pieces for Brown but that’s it and barely.

Brown? He’s a bit above the others

He's unrestricted. I'm not trading Sharpe for him.

Brown is not a free agent, unless you mean after next year

Miami's success so far in the playoffs probably means there is no realistic path to Adebayo.

I think Shaedon can get to Brown's level (top 30-35 player) in 2 yrs if given the runway to develop. And i personally find his ceiling higher than Jaylen.

No I've never heard of it happening between the end of the regular season and the lottery. Also the ~8 teams still in the playoffs would not be eligible to trade, so it would only be the eliminated teams. I don't think the team acquiring the pick would want to pay the extra cost needed when 85% chance the pick is not #1 and could even fall to #5. Plus the trading team wouldn't want to end up having sent out the #1 overall pick while accepting less value just a few weeks prior. So not worth the downside risk to either team.

The Clippers (actually with Neil Olshey as GM) trading away their 2011 first round pick at the February 2011 deadline to swap Baron Davis for Mo Williams was probably the closest example. A few months later in May 2011 that pick became #1 overall, and the Cavs used it to draft Kyrie Irving.

If we consider Bridges as a SF then I definitely think Brown is one as well.....especially at 220 lbs. Essentially the same length.
If we can get a high enough pick I would love to see a Dame, SS, Brown trio.

Yup. Miami's play has pretty much removed Bam or Jimmy from the list.

I still believe any non-Lillard trades would be just treading water. Time to retool.
