<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Broncos | Anderson's release due to depth chartFri, 3 Mar 2006 12:34:37 -0800Mike Klis, of the Denver Post, reports the Denver Broncos' decision to release RB Mike Anderson was because the team planned on moving RB Ron Dayne ahead of him on the depth chart for the 2006 season.</div>
Well, being from Wisconsin and a HUGE Badger fan, this is kinda cool for Dayne. He could more than carry the load as being the Badgers main back (and winning Heisman), I think he'll do good in Denver
Dayne looked good this past season, and Anderson is gettin kinda old. If Dayne can get some runs like he did in that Thanksgiving game this year, the Broncos will be successful on the ground again (especially w/ help from Tatum Bell)
Yeah, it doesn't matter who runs behind that line. The Broncos can make almost any running back look good.
Dayne has always been talented running the football, even with the Giants. His problem was that he cannot catch the ball out of the backfield and that he cannot block. He would end up getting Jake Plummer killed with his missed blocking assignments. In NY, Everytime Dayne would step onto the field the opposing team knew that 9 times out of 10 it was going to be a run to Dayne because he couldnt catch the ball and he cant block. That's why he rarely saw the field in NY and by what I've seen of him, it hasnt really changed.
They've got all off-season/pre-season to get him used to blocking schemes, besides, Plummer loves throwing on the run.
