lol Igor has been run over and no penalties. As soon as this fuckface gets touched they call a penalty.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in a series. Team dominates 2 on road, playing to their strength and then team switches to backup goalie and Rangers quit playing. Remarkable
Yup, makes no sense what has happened here because of a goalie change. The Rangers decided to stop playing.
Well written - it will go down as one of the most perplexing losses. Give the Devs credit, but we were at best okay in game 3, 100% didn't show in game 4, and then tonight at best whatever. These guys look like it is game 5 of the season, not game 5 of the playoffs. That's why I think Gallant gets fired off this. How do you bring it back without something being done? This wasn't just a series loss, it was a total collapse, with no passion or real effort or urgency after game 2. Someone has to pay for that, and I think it will be the coach. I also think the Rangers need to change their philosophy. I would look to move Goodrow and Panarin, and I give the kids bigger roles. I look to have a real 3rd line, not one made of skill players, but a top faceoff C, and some grinding playoff type wingers. Enough with the big names and stars. As many runs as the Rangers have made over the past 11 years, one theme is common, they no show many big playoff games, they almost never have a killer instinct in a series, and regardless of the name on the jersey they do not score in the playoffs. Time for a change.
Taking Vanacek out definately spooked them, especially when they only scored one in game 3. I don't think it's a matter of giving up.
Not sure about that - Drury may have to do it to save his own a**. This is not just a loss, this is a loss that is epic with how games 1 and 2 went, and how the Rangers loaded up for this run. To have all that and then fall apart, someone will pay I think.
Agreed - it is not. With that said, the way the Rangers have played the past 3 games, and the way this goalie is in their head, hard to see them winning the next 2.
Tonight's game hasn't been good at all but they weren't going to win every game 5-1. The goalie change definately sparked NJ but both games at MSG were close and they missed both opportunities. Most people predicted 6/7 so it's pretty much on course. If the Rangers had gotten swept I'd say he should be on more of a hot seat. Who knows, maybe he will be let go.
I don't think it has to do with grinding. I think you need to have balance. I was a big supporter of bringing Kane here, and I was wrong. He has been a mess. This is not his fault, total team effort, but he has been a mess. Less stars, less of a 3rd line that is a finesse line, and more balance with some stars, and some sandpaper, and a 3rd line that fits the mold of a 3rd line. Not top 6 players playing on the 3rd line. Big names, big contract, fat cats, no urgency - not a good mix.
Who said winning every game 5-1. They no showed game 4, they barely showed tonight, if they go out with a whimper I don't know how you can sell bringing him back.
how the hell they did not score. I've never seen such luck for a goalie. This kid is so beatable too as soon as he needs to move side to side. What a fucking disgrace.
I think the point is also take last year for example. The comebacks they needed to get to the ECF and then they blow the 2-0 lead to Tampa after being up in game three.
