Let's say a top 5 pick? Or maybe top 8?

    2 mid first rounders?

I say if we can a top 7 pick this year or next let's do it.

Ant and Sharpe are our backcourt of the future. Get the most out of Dame now while while his value is high. I love Dame but let's face it, we aren't going to get him another star player or two and make a run, it has to be through the draft.

Depends on the picks and the package. Dame makes a lot of money. It’s going to take more than picks to move him.

Trade Simons too. Plug Keon Johnson into starting PG to get a slower start then the other turtles for the #1 pick.

No. I’m all about starting over, but starting over with the EXACT same player as Dame , in Ant…..but not nearly as good makes no sense.

Nope, trading Dame now when the man is playing his best ball would be a mistake. If Sharpe really pops with the addition of some veteran playoff seasoned players we could be closer to contention than you think. At 32 he has plenty of round ball at a high level left.

Any teams that could get the #1 pick and be interested in sending it to us for Dame?

Maybe a swap with our pick, or we give future picks too. I would be all over that type of trade having Wemba, Ant and Sharpe.

Next step is the lottery, see where the Blazers pick is, and who gets #1. Too much uncertainty right now.

I don't think this franchise or fans wants to trade Dame just now, first we probably will have to see if Grant resigns or if Cronin can add any other good starters. If he can't, then maybe the time to consider Dame trades will be here and yes draft picks should be highly considered.

I don't think there's anyone in the league who would swap Wemby for Dame.

I think there are a few teams that would consider it but none of them are in the lottery so it doesn't matter.

What if we get #2 and agree to swap both that and Dame for #1? Houston hired Ime and perhaps wants to win now. Toronto, Chicago, Utah, Orlando, San Antonio, Charlotte... maybe some of them would consider it.

Now if your saying thats too much value for the Blazers to give up... instead what if Blazers pick is #7, etc. There is a break even point where the value might make sense for both teams.

I don't think the Blazers will consider this or any Dame trades by the draft, I just see it as an interesting thought exercise. Who knows though, sometimes things can move quicker than we think or be unexpected.

If we got the #1 pick I'd probably trade it for Giannis but not a whole heck of a lot else.

I heard an interview with the GOAT, MJ, he and Barkley and they were asked how the game has changed the most besides the 3. Jordon was quick to say, in most cases, you draft and pay big bucks for potential now without a real body of work with one & done college players. The G & I players at least have some experience playing at a semi high level. They both said it used to be players got paid once they proved themselves in the NBA.
