Crazy how many assistant coaches there are nowadays. I can see 4-5 at most but 6-10 coaches on the bench? The game has changed for sure.

We could get Brooks and Draymond and be the most hated team in the league.

I'd try to get Brooks on a minimum or very cheap contract.

Hell no to Draymond on that huge contract. If he gets cut from Golden State with them trying to go a different direction or lowball him or something I'd love to have him for the MLE. But I'm not trading Ant or draft picks for him.

Surprised to see Brook Lopez on there; was he really that good defensively this year? Middleton missed a lot of time this year but they still have Giannis and Jrue. I just don't see how Brook was that effective as an individual but I didn't watch a lot of the Bucks this year.

    So comparing who was on last year 2022;
    1st Giannis(63) Bridges(83) Gobert(70) JacksonJr Smart (61)
    2nd Adebayo Green Jrue Thybulle(71) WilliamsIII(35)

    This year 2023;
1st Caruso Jrue JacksonJr Lopez Mobley
2nd Adebayo OG Dillon Green White

So four of five players on last years first team all defense didn't make either team this year. Thats a bit strange. I noted the games played in 2022-23 for players who were on last years team but didn't make this years team. Players that made both teams are bolded.

When was a Blazer on these teams, especially for multiple years?

Yes Thybulle is here now, but I can't think of a Blazer doing this.

Oh my gosh just looked it up... we might have some records for lack of good defensive players the last 3 decades.

    2004 2nd team Theo Ratliff
    2000 2nd team Scottie Pippen
    1992 2nd team Buck Williams
    1991 1st team Buck Williams
    1990 1st team Buck Williams
    1981 2nd Kermit Washington
    1980 2nd Kermit Washington
    1979 2nd Lionel Hollins & Maurice Lucas
1978 1st team Maurice Lucas & Bill Walton & Lionel Hollins - 2nd team Bob Gross
    1977 1st team Bill Walton

Thybulle and Roco made those teams recently but not as Blazers.

There are a lot of teammates on the first team, but very few trio's as the Blazers did in 1978.
    1996 Pippen, Jordan, Rodman (Bulls)
1983 Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, Maurice Cheecks (76ers)
1978 BLAZERS 1st team Maurice Lucas & Bill Walton & Lionel Hollins - 2nd team Bob Gross
1976 Paul Silas, Havlicek, Dave Cowens (Celtics)
1970 Dave DeBusschere, Willis Reed, Walt Frazer (Knicks)

These are how many trio's were on both teams back to 1978. No team since the Blazers in 1978 has had four teammates on all defensive teams.
2021 Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Matisse Thybulle (76ers)
2013 Tony Allen, Marc Gasol, Avery Bradley (Grizzlies)
2006 Ben Wallace, Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince (Pistons)
2005 Ben Wallace, Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince (Pistons)
    1996 see above Bulls
1993 Pippen, Jordan, Horace Grant (Bulls)
    1983 see above
    1978 BLAZERS

The Celtics had four teammates in 1975 with Havlicek, Silas, Cowens, Don Chaney

And even then it was an irrelevant Theo Ratliff whose time as a Blazer saw the franchise play in 0 playoff games - and he only played here two full seasons.

Pippen was on legit teams here, but only made the second team once. Have to go back to Buck Williams when we had a multi year defensive player or a defensive 1st team player.

Buck Williams is 63 years old.

Huh? Sharpe has consistent minutes from Day 1 and that first game was one of his best all year.
