What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I get what your saying. Hey, i hope the Nets think as you do as well. It will make it easier to go after Bridges. When i watch the highlights, i see Donovan Mitchell Lite. That's very good. Maybe he will be great. Who knows. But we have great, and need to surround him with some gusto. We don't need Scoot.

So he's 25. He can play at the NBA level as a potential quality back up right now. I don't see Scoot as a generational player.

If you look at Scoot and see Donovan Mitchell, yeah, there's really not anything to discuss. Scoot has much more of an all-around game and will make the rest of the players around him better. I'm not really sure what someone is looking at to watch him and see Spida, so we're coming at this obviously from far different perspectives and I don't think we'll ever come close to see eye to eye.

Then just say you don't view Scoot as a generational player. Quit bringing up that he played in the g league like it means something. He put up more points and assists per game at age 18 in the G league than Skylar Mays did at 25. It isn't the insult you think it is.

Exactly. Siakam is a fantastic talent. He's exactly what the Blazers need. Bridges as well. Getting either for the # 3 plus a player would be a win. Mitchell Robinson is too up and down. Williams will probably stay in Boston. And needs to stay healthy.

Then Blazers need to find somebody with similar energy and hops and go get them.

I can see this as well.
When I have watched Scoot - he's good, but he doesn't jump off the screen as a generational talent.

I see Donovan Mitchell Lite. Said that. That means a lesser player.

I'm hearing rumors that Wemby has one leg 3" longer than the other and he likes to drive around with so many guns it would scare Ja Morant.

Also, his real birth certificate says he's 38yrs old.

Hopefully, someone tells the Spurs about all of this.

How much of this thinking have to do with Wemby?

If Wemby were not in this draft, how would we think of Scoot? Would he be a consensus #1?

I kinda get the feeling that we all are diminishing the value of 3 just because it's not Wemby. Like... Is Miller the same caliber of prspect as a Jayson Tatum? If so, there is no way I'm trading that and Ant for Siakam. Or, is Scoot like DRose or Russ? Then we need to seriously consider keeping them. I haven't definitively decided yet, but something to consider. The 3 pick in any draft has a ton of value.

Not sure. Miller is highly touted.

All I know is we have to trade dame.

When the season starts he’ll be 33. We’ll have max 3 productive years left with him. Shit 3 years is less than standard rookie contracts run for. Think about how fast 3 years flies by. 3 years ago the pandemic also started for example. It’s not personal it’s business

    Zero.
I have Scoot ranked 5th or 6th on my big board.

I would rather exploit the consensus narrative around him that he's an amazing talent.

With the Knicks pick, maybe the Blazers draft Grady Dick. I've been calling for a dead eye dick off the bench who can nail the jumper with ease.

This is from Chris Haynes, so you know it's really from Lillard's camp.

It still comes down to how they are projected for the future. They all need to work on something to be a contributor in the playoffs in 2-3 years.
None of them are ready now. We often look at Kobe as an example as he was not great his first year....but his work ethic and drive were special.
We as fans have no clue at this point what the makeup is for this draft class. Victor is special because of his height/length. Scoot is special because of his explosiveness. But they both need to work their asses off. Same with Miller. He looked good at times and bad in their last game. it just comes down to projecting how much better they will be in a few years.

Naw. 1st , we don't know if he only has 3 productive years left. 2nd, Dame is not the Average Joe B Ball talent wise. 3rd, generation talent is rarely replaced.

I agree that you draft BPA - in the 84 draft we chose Bowie over MJ because we had Clyde. Nuff said!

Keep an eye on Brooklyn. Even Mike Richman has said he's talked to folks around the league to keep an eye on Brooklyn as a Dame destination, and Mike never talks rumors.

Basically, Brooklyn has the same decision to make as us. Go all in with their assets, or take a big step back and rebuild. Both Portland and Brooklyn are flipping the same coin. Heads/Tails = One team going all in and the other going rebuild.

If we trade the pick, I would look for it to Brooklyn. If we trade Dame, I would also look for it to be to Brooklyn.
