?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Dame is the only draw this franchise has for free agents and it's just kicking in since his time with team USA....he's talking with allstars about coming to Portland...you don't trade that away if you're a smart GM...folks who want a youth movement should enjoy the new G league team. In my view Dame is just getting started....I'd call a hater anyone who would petition for him to be traded

    Such as?

Who has Dame successfully recruited in free agency in the past 10 years?

I wasn't aware that he had re-signed. Also, we had to give up assets to bring him here.

I agree they are going to trade it. As far as I can see, Siakam is the only one remotely possible. He has said he loves Toronto so would have to be the club that decides. If I was Toronto I would keep him and try to add guards.

So, then we might be in competition with them if any star becomes available?

Siakam is nice but I wouldn't trade Sharpe for him straight up.

Could be. Makes sense not to give up on a player who has started to look like the real deal.

I think the loudness of the trade Dame chatter on social media can be directly attributed to the onslaught of Toronto fans pushing the horrible idea of Siakam/OG.

Blazer Twitter is now pushing back with keeping the pick is much better than appeasing Dame’s desire for vets. It’s rare that this team gets this high of a pick. Trading it for a non-superstar is nauseating.

Can anyone remember the last time a top three pick was traded for a star?

Unlike Dame, Ball is long and can defend multiple positions. The dude is also only 21 so I think there is a great chance that they could identify either Scoot or Miller as a great guy to play with LaMelo for a long time. Unlike us (if we're keeping Dame) the Hornets have no reason to be in a mindset of winning now at all costs. Like everything else though, we'll just have to wait and see.

The potential of getting a haul at 3 is rising as Miller & Scoot's value goes up. I'm really getting excited about the hype on these two players. It makes that pick so much more valuable. And potentially be able to get more for it. Then you still have Ant & those future 1st to get another super quality addition.

Hendricks is actually who I too would target at 6. BPA at 11. Wagner could always be flipped. But there will be a very good player there at 11 and we have the Schmidt to do player evaluation. We could certainly get Wagner, 6 and 11 for the 3 if Scoot is available and as I said, we could sweeten the deal with 23 or second rounders.

Seriously? How was it personal? I quoted exactly what you specifically said. That would almost mean you were personal against yourself? My goodness.

And it certainly didn't answer the question about who the Dame "haters" were that you referred to who could f-off.

He been talking about getting an all star ever since Paul George, Jimmy butler, and Kawhi Leonard were available. Grant is not an all star and was lucky to be on that team USA. GP2 was overpaid to come here and immediately left. We have overpaid every free agent starting from Evan Turner. No free agents have come to just play with dame, they’re all getting paid more than they expected

It might be pie in the sky stuff but at least it's not proposing to get Bridges for a six pack and a pizza.

In a pre-draft trade on June 9th, 1980, the Boston Celtics traded the draft rights to the 1st pick (Joe Barry Carroll) and the 13th pick (Rickey Brown) in the 1980 NBA Draft for center Robert Parish and the rights to the 3rd pick in the NBA draft (Kevin McHale).

McHale and Parish both went on to Hall of Fame careers while playing major roles in 3 championship roster on the Boston Celtics. The Celtics won their first of three champions the season right after the trade. Instantly, they had arguably the best frontline in NBA history. The Celtics success in the 1980’s is incredible. They won 3 titles, and won at least 50 games in 11 out of 12 seasons from the trade in 1980 to 1992.
