I'd like to get Siakam, but in no way am i giving up Sharpe to do it. Ant / #3, Nas, Johnson , fine. I'm not sending Nurk either unless Poetl is coming back in the deal with Siakam.

Even that is too much for me. He's a nice player, but Scoot/Miller + Ant is worth more than that in my opinion. If we can get him for Ant or Nurk and a Future unprotected 1st or something, cool, if not, he's not worth ponying up for. That's a move we'll regret...

Joe has got to have a plan down to a T before the draft. This is a very easy draft to fuck up and a very hard draft to get right. He’s got to stick to his short list of players that he would trade the #3 pick for. I’m sure that short list contains of Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam, Mikal Bridges maybe a few more. If he can’t do it then maybe it is time to move on from the Dame era and take either Scoot or Miller and start a new era. I love Dame but I don’t want to see the Blazers string him along and be wishy washy with him.

My favorite thing is (from what I remember) there was someone else saying they don't know if they (the raptors) would do that trade.

If you're Masai and the Blazers GM offered you that trade, you'd have to stay on the phone until that baby is executed cuz that's a gift horse.

If Siakam is on that list Cronin is a moron.

Drafting Scoot doesn't necessarily have to be the killshot to Dame's tenure here. Sure, it doesn't help like trading for another star would, but if Miller does indeed go 2 and there's not a no-brainer deal on the table for 3, it's an EASY decision to take Scoot and you sell that to Dame by telling him you're taking the most valuable asset and are going to continue shopping him for talent upgrades. I also think it's not unreasonable that they could coexist better together than CJ or Ant, and you're still able to trade Ant/Nurk + future 1s for another star...

To me the way to fuck this up is to overcomplicate the decision. Yes, know your price, but if it's not met, take the best player and keep trying to make the best decisions you can one day at a time...

Not if it's in a sign and trade. For 1 year yes. But Miller is still unproven, and Siakam is . And is an upper echelon . He's had his way against much of the league. He's the one guy on Toronto who's dominant on both ends.

I don't see it, but plenty do, that's fine.

I'll be pretty underwhelmed if that's the best we get for 3, but I guess we'll see...

Blazers don't need Scoot. They do need a franchise wing ( Siakam, Bridges). Miller might be that guy. Might.

I like what Miller shows skillset wise. That gun thing does worry me, but everyone except that murdering POS deserves a second chance.

I'm sure Miller is getting grilled on that incident.

I will just say this. If we go into next season with Dame/Scoot/Ant/Sharpe on this roster I will absolutely rage.

One's all upside and almost immeasurable ceiling. The other guy might be completely capped out but super safe floor...

Despite what I said above, it's admittedly challenging to reconcile Dame's future if you're drafting Scoot, but I think in the short term, a Dame/Scoot/Sharpe alignment would be fun as well to watch...

Yeah I think it's safe to say something would have gone wrong there if that happens. Any chance of keeping Dame happy with drafting Scoot almost mandates us trading Ant, agree there.

Hey, if Scoots so good, play him at center. I did read where Jordan said going to Portland was dumb with Drexler already there. So i guess he didn't want to play center ( Bobby Knights reference to Blazers GM Stu Inman, that he should draft Jordan anyways, and play him at center). For the younger fans in here.

OK, hypothetical question: If Miller goes 2, Bridges is off the table and the Raptors ask an unreasonable return for Siakam, what would you do?

Because this ^ is a very possible scenario.

You've posted multiple times that "we don't need Scoot." You ALWAYS need talent, and acquiring inferior talent in favor of need almost always backfires sooner or later. Especially in basketball, where you only play 9 guys per game big minutes and especially in current basketball where position isn't the be-all it used to be.

Trading Scoot because you need a wing is not the way, if the wing you can get for Scoot is OG Anunoby or similar talent. There are more ways to achieve your need for a wing and improve your overall talent by drafting Scoot if the right deal isn't present, e.g. trading Ant after drafting Scoot.

I also agree that a nice trade of Ant / unlocked future 1st will be available to net a second upper echelon talent.

Still think the Nets will be all in on acquiring Scoot when it's all said and done. I know they love Bridges. But it's freaking NY. They want Splashy. I'm sure Jay Zzer is already pumped up at the possibility.

From what I was just reading, they may look to deal CJ out of town.

And I never believed CJ and Dame wouldn't work. They wouldn't work with the front court Portland always put around them.
