What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Poetl can't come back, he's a free agent.

Yeah, gonna be a free agent next year on a 200+ million contract... He should be worth a bit more than Grant. I'd give up Ant but not #3.

Blazers need talent more than anything else.

    Cronin has to maximize value.

Cronin has to factor in how likely Dame is to ask out if the Blazers draft Scoot and what he believes he can get for Dame in return. At that point, look at the two scenarios are pick the best one for the organization.

What ever the Blazers do they need quality players. If you can bring something back from the no# 3 pick it's has to be a quality player. I don't think Simons and the 3 pick is not going bring back super star so it's just nonsense believing that altogether. Yes I would love bridges but Brooklyn is not getting rid of bridges. You might pull off OG or even skiam but not both but they are both quality players. I might like to see them trade down with Orlando for 6 & 11 and one of there quality player and still going get get a couple quality young players for the future. As GM you trying to both side of the ball get quality player to make Dame happy and still look towards the future and trading down to 6 & 11 and get quality veteran you just might get what you want.

do you honestly believe that Cronin would have traded Hart if Hart told Cronin he would re-sign in Portland?

just about every indicator, including Hart's own words, was that Hart wasn't going to re-sign unless Portland overpaid significantly

If they are unsure about Miller then I wonder if they take a more conservative approach. We all want to hit a home run but maybe we compromise.
We trade the pick to Orlando for Franz Wagner, re-sign Grant, and draft a center at 23. That gets us a comparable player to Miller, if not better and who is still only 22
but who has two years of NBA experience. Wagner is ready to contribute to a playoff team now. He also weighs over 220 and I think would fit well with Grant.

We resign Cam and sign someone with the MLE so we have additional salaries to include around the trade deadline. I think that is a solid team with youth, and it still leaves us with assets to trade.

if Scoot is as good as some of you Scoot-fans claim, Charlotte will draft him at 2

I think the Blazers have now put a great scouting team on staff and those folks have followed some of these players whole careers and actually seen them play, etc...when it comes to the draft I have more confidence in this front office than most folks. Biggest question mark will be Cronin's ability to work with other GMs in getting deals done. Thee draft is in good hands I think. I like Schmidt as that guy.

Watching Brown right now is making me hesitant to trade the 3rd pick for him. I don’t know if him and Tatum just don’t gel but he looks like he’s just going through the motions.

he's not close to being a #1 option. In fact, he seems to be one of those players who sometimes disappear if his shot isn't falling. He's also not a good three points shooter. He puts up good numbers though, at least he does in the regular season

but the way thing are going he sure might be available

    What is Dallas doing?

Hopefully #3 for Ayton dies now…

If Michael Jordan is as good as Bobby Knight says, the Trail Blazers will draft him.

“Bobby Knight, who'd coached MJ at the '84 Olympic trials, urged Blazers GM Stu Inman (an old pal) to take Jordan. Inman said, "But we need a center." Knight yelled back, "So play him at center!" Inman didn't listen.”

I love how people keep saying “Scoot would be #1 in most drafts” when Miller started showing up ahead of him in mocks as early as November.

And people saying Scoot @ 3 is only because CHA is dumb.

The mocks didn’t think CHA was gonna be 2 and they still had teams taking Miller.

Miller was projected as high as 2 in November, to teams that weren’t Charlotte.

So why did a Toronto team loaded with all these players that are worth sooo much in trade value finish 41-41 and lost in the play in? Siakam, OG, Barnes, VanVleet, Trent Jr, Poeltl. I can't see what anyone of them did to set them apart and be rated so highly as individual players. Obviously none of them can carry a team to victory or be the number one on the team. Bridges is unproven in that as well in Brooklyn and Brown is not impressing for Boston. Offering Ant, 3 and filler seems like an over pay for most of these guys as they are all number two's or threes's on their teams.

All that said, I LOVE Cam Whitmore.

I have some questions about the BBIQ though…

Can someone explain to me how he sounds any different than Cam Reddish?

No doubt in my mind we trade the pick and some.
Joe & Chauncey have made a commitment to Dame and teams will be lined up with offers.
