<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jets lose Kitna, sign DE von OelhoffenBY KEN BERGERSTAFF WRITERMarch 14, 2006, 6:06 PM ESTThe Jets weren't able to land Jon Kitna today, but they did sign former Steelers defensive end Kimo von Oelhoffen to bolster their new 3-4 defense.Von Oelhoffen, 35, the consummate 3-4 defensive end, represents the most obvious sign that the Jets are completely revamping their defensive scheme in the mold of the AFC powers New England and Pittsburgh. Von Oelhoffen, who agreed to a three-year contract, also has experience at nose tackle in a 3-4, a gaping hole on the Jets' roster.Kitna, believed to be at the top of the team's wish list, agreed to terms this morning with the Lions, according to his agent, Michael Moye. Kitna visited the Lions first, then sat down with Jets officials yesterday day at Hofstra but left without receiving a formal contract offer. He is believed to have gotten guaranteed money from the Lions that was out of the Jets' reach. With Kitna off the market, the Jets' interest in trading for Redskins quarterback Patrick Ramsey could heat up again. Also, the Jets may join a growing list of teams making trade offers to the Falcons for backup Matt Schaub, who played for former Jets coach Al Groh at Virginia.Josh McCown, who like Kitna visited the Lions, hasn't drawn much interest from the Jets yet. McCown could emerge as a fallback option, but he is said to be interested in signing with a team that would provide a better opportunity to start than the Jets.</div>http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jet...l=ny-jets-print
This sucks for the Steelers. He was a very big part of our defense and underrated IMO. He takes up a lot of space on the line and can stop the run. Good sign for the Jets

No worries, I say we pick up Tapp from Va Tech if he drops to us in the 2nd round.
