All over the radio here, reported by Tom Kowalski. Killer says he's not. This goes way back. This has more to do with Martz than Harrington. This goes back to the Dre Bly thing where he was made a scapegoat. I'm siding with Joey here, first they name him the starter a little more than a week ago, then they go out and try and get a couple big names at QB on their team. That would piss me off too.

Finally, i hear about a player that is actually interested in winning instead of making big bucks only.

Beaing reported he'll be cut by Monday if hes not traded first. Hopefully someboy takes him and we get somethin for him .
The Bills I think would be a decent fit, or maybe, the Jets, maybe Minnesota now that Mr. Social Security: Brad Johnson will be the starter there. The problem is that the Lions have absolutely no leverage with Joey, the whole league knows we don't want him, we have a basketball squad of QB's to prove it, and his performance doesn't warrant a lot of trade interest. the Lions should feel fortunate that Joey wants out of the contract and they get to avoid paying that roster bonus to him. If he wanted to get paid, he could ride it one more year and be amidst another year long QB controversy. But he's smart, just like a rat in a burning building. Get outta there as fast as possible and don't look back. If's he's gonna make anything out of his career, it WON'T be in Detroit. I was on the Joey "Heisman" bandwagon too, but I rode it as long as possible, I wish him luck on another team.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The release has not been made official, but it is now crystal clear that the Lions have decided to part ways with quarterback Joey Harrington. New head coach Rod Marinelli confirmed as much on Monday, telling the team's web site: "I've decided to go in a different direction with Joey. I made the decision that I think is best for our team. We're moving on at this point without Joey." No surprise here. The only drama remaining is whether Harrington is being released or traded. Jon Kitna and Josh McCown will vie for the Lions starting gig this summer and Shaun King and Dan Orlovsky are expected to battle for clipboard duties as the third-stringer. Assuming he has not be traded, Harrington is not going to catch on with anyone willing to simply hand him a starting job. The Chiefs, Seahawks, Raiders, Vikings, Bears, and Dolphins may all have an interest in bringing Joey in as a backup.http://www.fanball.com/fb/teamProfile.cfm?team=DET</div>Say bye-bye to Joey Harrington
Horrible move. I know for a fact that Joey Harrington could be a good QB with Mike Martz leading him.
This kid needs a fresh start and have the pressure taken off of him. He is a perfect example of a young, immature quarterback expected to save a franchise with bad ownership, horrendous front office people and horrible coaches over his tenure. He was in a no win situation and don't give me he had great weapons to work with either. Name a receiver who was good and not a rookie? I'll take him at the right price, let him relax and just play without expectations. Bet me he turns into a solid NFL quarterback; he has the tools..
I just think he needed confidence within himself. So many people put him down and that could really lower your confidence as a player. He will be a good back up for what ever team signs him.
I think he could be a decent backup QB....but hes going to want to go to a team where he will be given a chance to start.
Joey hasnt even officially been cut or traded yet....Arizona has shown interest in him....but not gone anywhere yet.
