If he doesn't do well I'm gonna laugh in his face for being such a crybaby about Brees being in front of him all that time...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rivers is confident in himself and his supporting cast and does not feel that San Diego fans should be disappointed about the departure of Drew Brees. "This is not a setback," said Rivers. "I haven't played a ton, that's true. But I've had the two years, and I know the abilities I do have. But the thing that's key to mention is we have a good team. We have a couple guys that are as good as there is in the league and (they're) mixed in with a bunch of good, solid players. I think the fans should be excited - not necessarily because of me, but because of the team we have and the direction we're headed." The Chargers are clearly confident that Rivers can be successful as the starter, but it remains to be seen how his numbers will compare to what Brees was able to accomplish over the past thee seasons.http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=roto...owire&type=lgns</div>I feel him, i'm ready for this guy to play, I really think he can be a great player in the coming years.

He needs better receivers though. They just lost Caldwell and their TE. Gates drops way too many passes, especially passes from Rivers. I think Rivers will struggle at first.

Eric Parker? He isn't that bad, he made some big plays for them last season but I agree they need someone better but that shouldnt hurt them

The Chargers also have AJ Feeley, he's pretty good, so they should also consider him as a starter.

I don't really see him failing with Gates and Tomlinson.

I think having him as a starter will develop him and obviously make him way better than he is especially since he's only in his 2nd season.

He'll be fine. He's been sitting behind Brees for 2 years now learning the game. I think he'll have a solid season. He will not be Joey Harrington. Joey was thrown to the hounds with a chitty team. Rivers has a pretty solid core around him.

personally i think this kid is going to flop and SD is going to regret letting Brees go. Shame too because before they were at least a playoff contending team.

I don't know how this will turn out, but I think Rivers has great potential. It must've gave him a lot of self-confidence when the Chargers cut Bees. But yeah, I think he will do well... he is actually one of the most accurate passers in the game today.

From what ive seen from Rivers, he is just a ok QB. I dont think the Chargers are gonna have to good of a season this year. And Rivers is a big part. I just done seeing him coming in and dominating.

Rivers is going to succeed with this multi-talented team who shouldve been a playoff team but losses to the Eagles and Dolphins I believe killed them. The best RB in the league along with the best TE should be a recipe for success in San Diego. Watch out for Jackson. He's really tall and can fly.
